members enthusiastically
welcome ladies and gentle-
men, boys and girls from all
over this area to attend this
free event and experience the
nostalgia of a little time trav-
el through our national her-
itage.
Expect these ladies to
have a decidedly Texas point
of view on their “Roosevelt
Roots”, yet still be qualified
experts by close family ties
and vivid memories.

Texas and ranch locally.
During their childhood,
F.D.R. made five trips to
Fort Worth, combining his
official duties with family
visits. Holidays marked
gatherings for the family at
the White House or at Hyde
Park. Summer vacations
brought the family yearly to
their favorite lake resort.
From 1945 to 1950 the two
young Texans spent a lot of
time at Hyde Park with their
father, Elliott Roosevelt.
After F.D.R. died in 1945,
President Harry S. Truman
first appointed Eleanor to the
U.S. delegation to the United
Nations. She remained
active in her causes and
stayed close to her 22 grand-
children until her death in
1962.
Come at 6 p.m., meet the
speakers and enjoy light
refreshments before the pro-
gram at 6:30. Simply turn
south on Hwy 677 at the red
light on Hwy 82. The Church
will be on your right with
parking available on both
sides of the street.
Lance Meekins, Hospital
Administrator, has been
asked to attend the February
meeting to receive the
Auxiliary’s annual $1,000
donation to the hospital.
This donation is to be used in
some specific way in support
of Nocona General Hospital.
The 2013 Volunteer of the
Year is also to be selected
during the February meeting.
With no further business, the
meeting adjourned at 2:35
p.m.
The auxiliary is still seek-
ing dedicated individuals to
become volunteers where
they will receive various
benefits as well as being well
rewarded for their communi-
ty service experience. The
meetings are held at 1:30
p.m. on the fourth Tuesday
of each month with the
exception on the three sum-
mer months. Both men and
women are invited to visit
any meeting and become a
volunteer of the Nocona
