No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to workers' compensation death benefit eligibility
for certain spouses of first responders killed in the line of duty.
Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance and the Comptroller of
Public Accounts, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities necessary to implement the
provisions of the bill could be accomplished within existing staff resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to units of local
