To the Citizens of
STEPHENS COUNTY
Saturday llu' l?"lh ou mil laM a (iti' Tor our
legislatie rcprcsontat'n o ol (his lhi IDMh Iti-
lalivo district. It is important to all llu pcopli
that you hac 0110 thinu and one only in mind
that is the hest interests ol the district.
I am now serving my first term as your repre-
sentative and am asking that you accord me Hie
usual second term. I was elected two years ago
with the tacit agreement that it was then Palo
Pinto county's turn to have the legislative rcpre-
sentn(ie and that after the time honored two
terms (provided m service was acceptable) that
I would retire for a Stephens county representa-
tive to be chosen. 1 still adhere to that agree-
ment. Pasing my candidacy on m own record made
during my past administration I have not and
wil! not indulge in petty politics or mud slinging
as some have done. A!y record is open for your
inspection.
There have been some misleading statements
made about my record and even my private life
but none of them have been or can be proven.
either by the records of the legislature or by anyone that knows me. I
leave it to the people to weigh the evidence and judge for yourself why
such .statements were made.
During my past term as your representative I have had no one to
criticise my work (but many to compliment my efforts) except my oppon-
ent and he has continually made his campaign on misrepresentations of
my administration.
Now all I want is a fair deal and ask that you the people who are to
be served select the man that will be of the most benefit to (he district
forgetting the personal or political future of myself or my opponent and
make the interest of the district the paramount issue when you cast your
vote next Saturday.
