Health fair draws crowds
The Jack County Health Fair at Twin Lakes Activity Center Saturday draws crowds early to
get their free blood draw's, screening for cholesterol and other tests. There w'ere also about 30
information booths about such things as Red Cross, mental health care, Jack County Child
Welfare Board, child care service, healthcare at home by caregivers, hospital programs, Big
Brothers Big Sisters and many others. About 250 people attended including exhibitors/vend-

Next Tuesday, Jacksboro Police
and Firemen will host a crime
and drug prevention event at the
Jacksboro Middle School park-
ing lot and field from 7-10 p.m.
Called “National Night Out”,
it is the 30th celebration where
neighborhoods join 15,704 other
communities around the world.
Over 37.5 million people are ex-
pected to participate in “Ameri-
ca’s Night Out Against Crime.”
The Jacksboro police and fire-
men are joined by Jack Coun-
ty Sheriff’s department, Jack
County Constable’s office, Faith
Community Hospital and Faith
Community EMS, and will have
displays, anti-crime and drug pre-
vention literature and handouts,
and free hot dogs and drinks.

JNB breaks ground in Bowie
The Jacksboro National Bank Board of Directors

the new' Bow'ie Bank branch facility Tuesday. The construction is projected to take 7-8 months.

Tuesday, Jacksboro Nation-
al Bank board members met
in Bowie to break ground on
the new JNB branch called
The Bowie Bank, which will
be located at the comer of
Cummings, Wise and Tarrant
Streets.
According to a recent article
in the Bowie News, the new
facility will be similar in de-
sign to the main bank located
in Jacksboro, by using Lu-
eder’s stone for the outside of
the building, metal roof, and
an abundance of parking on
the south and west sides of the
building. It is expected to be
finished in Spring, 2014.

Stadium.
At halftime, recognition will
be given to the alumni class with
the most attendees, the class that
traveled the farthest, the oldest
alumni from the ones who at-
tend the game.
After the football game, there
will be a student dance in the
school cafeteria.
Saturday, several individual
classes of alumni are planning
get-togethers. There will be a
lunch served at noon in the high
school gym.
Cost will be $9 a plate which
will be catered by Mineral Wells

Counseling comes
to Jacksboro
Mental health care will come
to Jacksboro, starting Oct. 1,
from 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and be
available every other Tuesday at
the Faith Community Hospital
Specialty Clinic.
Provided by Bryan Ray, a li-
censed counselor with Graham
Psychological Associates for
more than 10 years, his expe-
rience will enable him to help
teens, adults, and families over-
come mental health challenges
such as depression, anxiety,
family conflicts, marriage dif-
ficulties and pain management.
“Nearly two-thirds of all peo-
ple with a diagnosable mental
disorder do not seek treatment,
and that can substantially affect
their quality of life,” said Ray.
“The good thing is that most in-
dividuals can overcome mental
illness through proper treatment
