Jackson and Whited began this
hike at the swimming beach at
the Lost Creek Trailhead por-
tion of Fort Richardson. We
traversed the Oak Ridge Trail
which winds around through
the dense woods along the wa-
terfront areas and back to the
swimming beach.
Whited pointed out the many
different species of trees in
the area along with the many
grasses that occupy the prai-
ries and woods of this arena.

In the last two months, there have been at least two reports of a scam
being perptrated on the citizens of Jack County.
“Someone will call and report that they have a member of their fam-

ily in jail in Mexico,” Jack County Sheriff Danny Nash said. “They
will then start asking for money from the family.”

please call the authorities,” Nash said. “We need to know how many
times this has happened.”
Nash added, “Each time these calls come in, they tell the family not
to inform the authorities.”
This can be one sure sign that there is a problem.
One report of this scam was in the city limits of Jacksboro approxi-
mately one month ago. The other happened in the county recently.
“The family in question knew the location of their family members,”
Nash said. “Therefore, they knew the call was not legitamate.”
Please be aware of these calls and report any received to the proper
authorities as soon as possible.
Wreck in Bryson
The driver of a Cadillac traveling east Friday on Highway
380 and making a left turn onto Farm Market 1191 North
was hit from behind by a white pickup. The impact spun the
car around. The injured driver from Bryson was transported
to Graham Regional Hospital for treatment. Tests were still
being conducted on the injured driver Sunday afternoon.
