DAIRY
At “Dairy Days” in Texas this
year, thirty per cent of the dairy cat-
tle exhibited’ were in the blue ribbon
class. This was seven per cent over
last years’ blue ribbon class. This
does not mean, however, that 30%
of the dairy cows are in the blue
ribbon class as usually the better
cows are taken to the “dairy day.”
This does mean that dairymen are
getting a better eye for dairy types
and are making better selections and
following breeding practices with that
in mind.
CATTLE GRUB CONTROL

BURNETT BARBER SHOP
Shoes or Boots .........................1S<
Open ’til 12 on Sundays
Now is high time to check the cat-
tle for grubs and treat them if any
are found. Rotenone is* still the num-
ber one treatment and when used as
a dust with sulphur or some other
suitable ingredient, should contain
1.66% rotenene or it Can be used a«
a wash on windy days. Either method
is effective when properly used.
We stand a chance this year to
have very few grubs in native cattle,
so it would be wise to get what few
might be on them and almost elimi-
nate the heel fly next spring.
