The Archer City Industrial
Foundation fund continues to
rise and is well above the half-
way mark toward a goal of
$50,000. Several members of
the committee are working daily
in an effort to contact every
resident of Archer City, asking
their financial support of the
Foundation.
The number one question that
is asked is “What does the
Foundation plan to do with the
money? This is a good question
and one that is hard to answer.
Some of the money has already
been spent in the purchase of
the Parker Food Store building
on the northwest corner of the

were vaccinated last Saturday at
the Columbus Community Cen-
ter. Dr. Allen, a Wichita Falls
veternarian was on hand to
check the animals and give them
their shots.

Relatives of Mr. and Mrs.
Sylvester Schenk, residents of
Highland, 111., received word
over the weekend that Mrs.
Schenk had undergone major
surgery and is hospitalized in
St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis,
Mo. Both Mr. and Mrs. Schenk
grew up in this area, Mrs.
Schenk being the former Ta-
coma Zilhman.

making an all-out effort to lo-
cate an Industry that Is willing
to set up shop in the building.
Securing an industry is not
easy, and will no doubt take
some time. The financial back-
ing of the Foundation by area
citizens is necessary if we are
to expect to attract industry to

The Monday league evened up
some this week with the low
teams getting the cream of the
points. Dennis Schroeders and
Glen Schlumpfs picked up one
point to hold the lead with 27.
Steve Kellers, Norbert Roewe
and Patty Veitenheimer failed
to mark and were held at 25.
Joey Schroeders and Ricky Ber-
ends took all four for a score
of 22 tying Bobby Lindemans
and Gary Hoffs who won three.
Bobby lacked one pin getting a
200 and Joey Schroeder rolled a
201.
In next weeks final contest in
the Tuesday league three of
the four teams have a chance
of coming out on top. Hank
Scheffes and Louis Schroeders

lead with 31. Dave Meurersand
Bill Berends were hot this week
bowling a 1784 series taking all
four for a score of 27 and will
face the leaders Scheffes and
Schroeders in this last contest.

In the final contest of the
Thursday league A R. Linde-
mans and Roy Allen Wolfs
picked up one point and are
the champions with 36-1/2.

place with 31. Wayne Hum-
perts and Jude Schroeders took
three off the bottom with 27
and Elmer Schroeders and
Tommy Schlumpfs failed to
score and ended with 25-1/2.
A. R. Linde man had high game
and series of 235 and 574.
Wayne Humpert had high av-
erage of 166. For the women
Mrs. A R. Lindemanhadallthe
highs with 196, 526 and an av-
erage of 144.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stall-
cup and sons, Doug, Greg and
Will visited in Houston over
the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Frerich. Herman Fre-
nch remains hospitalized at the
M. D. Anderson Hospital and
Mrs. Stallcup reports that he is
recuperating very well follow-
ing his surgery, and she noted
much improvement.
The Scotland Christian Mo-
ther’s Society celebrated their
60th anniversary Monday eve-
ning with a very impressive
program and reception. Three
50 year members were honor-
ed. They were Mrs. Elizabeth
Hoffman, Mrs. Mary Meurer
and Mrs. Bill Morath. Special
thanks and congratulations were
given these ladies for their long
years of service to the com-
munity.

MILK GROUP WINNER - Jackie Steinberger, with a baked
custard ala’ and an unusual sour cream topping, won her a
blue ribbon at the County Food Show held recently in Wind-
thorst. She is IQ-years-old.
FRUIT AND VEGETABLE entry winner belonged to 11-year-
old Alvina Veitenheimer. She is from Windthorst and her entry
was a tangy vegetable salad.

Bonds in Archer County totaled
$8,745, according to County
Bond Chairman John Fall.
Sales for the two-month period
were $10,213 or 34 per cent of
the 1972 sales goal.
Texas sales during the month
amounted to $19,273,003 com-
pared to $17,302,962 during
February 1971 - an Increase of
11 per cent. Sales for the first
two months totaled $38,638,596
for 19 per cent of the yearly
sales goal of $202.3 million.
