tin and Jack Mueller.

PERSONAL
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Brock vis-
ited their son’s family, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Brock, Diane and

last weekend. They enjoyed a
two-fold celebration, Mother’s
Day and Diane’s 3rd birthday.
Lone Star Gas Company
asked the city of Archer City to
increase local residential and
commercial natural gas rates
by approximately 10% to enable
the company to earn a rea-
sonable rate of return on the
fair value of properties used
to serve the public.
The application for rate in-
crease listed increased cost of
buying gas, higher property and
equipment costs, increased
costs for employee compensa-
tion, higher interest rates on
borrowed money and increased
taxes as primary reasons for
the income deficiency.
“In addition,” stated B. L
Elliot, manager of the Olney
distribution office, "Lone Star
has a commitment to its cus-
tomers to vigorously com-
pete for supplies of natural gas
to keep its reserves in a favor-
able position. While other sec-
tions of the county are exper-
iencing some shortages of na-
tural gas, Lone Star has main-
tained favorable supplies. The
gas cost adjustment portion of
the application placed before the
City Council today,” continued
R. L Elliot, “will help Lone
Star maintain its favorable gas
supply position and assure our
customers of natural gas ser-
vice for the future.”
Approval of the company’s
application would increase the
average monthly residential gas
bill by approximately $.59.
Lone Star serves more than
700 customers in Archer City.
