Windthorst Class
To Present ‘Good
Gracious Grandma’
The Senior class at Windthorst
High promises gales of laughter
to anyone who takes the oppor-
tunity to come out and see their
three-act comedy entilted, “Good
Gracious, Grandma!” which will
be presented at 8 p m., April 1
in the high school gym. Tickets
are on sale for 75 cents.
The play concerns two city
play-boys who are broke and
haven’t got a dime to their name.
What they don’t do to get extra
dough is surprising!
The cast includes the follow-
ing: Tom Green and Bob Hajov-
sky as the play-boys, Frank
Schenk plays as P-Sam, their
Negro house boy. Mrs. Lennox,
their landlady, is played by
Gloria Berend. Of course, with
two play-boys, you must have two
girls, so to fill in for this is
Elizabeth Poirot and Pat Seh-
lumpf as Helen and Cecile Allen.
What about PSam? Well, he’s
got a girl too; she’s known as
Delicia, the Allen girls’ Negro
maid, played by Margie Humpert.
Jim Poirot and Tommy Berend
appear as two police officers an-
swering the call of Mrs. Lennox.
Introducing the play will be John
Wolf, who also acts as messenger
boy.
The play is directed by Miss
Martha Martindale, English In-
structor.

Excise Tax on
Telephone g[|g;
Service
Your telephone is a necessity, yet since 1942 you
have been paying the federal government an addi-
tional 10% for talking. An additional 20% in hid-
den taxes is paid by your telephone company to
local and state collection agencies. Thus, at least
i/3 of your telephone bill goes to the tax collectors.
YOU can do something about it. The current Con-
gress has plenty of time to act on the 10 % federal
tax in this session—if YOU let your congressmen
and senators know how you feel about it. WRITE
