The cannon boomed and tha
crowd went wild as the fighting Pi-
rates led Sinton to a 80-18 victory
ever Bishop Friday night.
An estimated 3,700 fans watched
as the two teams picked up where
they left off last year in this non-
district gams.
71w week was a slow one as Sin-
ton High School student! tried rath-
er half-heartedly to keep their
minds on studies while waiting for
the first game of the season.
Tha morning routine was broken
Thursday, September 3, when soph-
omores, juniors, seniors and teach-
ers were called to have pictures
made
Friday. September 4, was the day
set aside for the election of officers
for the Sinton High School "A"
choir Choir officers for the 1864-
*3 year are
President—Arthur Green; Vice-
President — Mark Satterwhitc; Sec-
retary-Treasurer — Raymond Cantu;
Reporter—Judy Richter.
Candidates for the office of Pres-
ident were Arthur Green, Mark Sat-
terwhite, Larry Heliums, and Ron-
nie Kellogg, Vice-Presidential nomi-
nees were Cathy Cummins, Larry
Heliums. Mark Sstterwhlte, and Su-
sie Bryant. Linda Aigner, Cathy
Cummins, Marilyn Vanecek. Ray-
mond Cantu, Katy Boyer and Susie
Bryant ran for the office of Secre-
tary- Treasurer. Judy Richter,
Charles Sullivan, Katy Boyer, Den-
son Copus. Jtryll Luckemeyer, Joe
Mokry, Jesus* Moreno, Ronnie KM-
log, and Cecilia Goynes were noml
nee* for the office of reporter.
The Spanish Club will hold its
first meeting on Sept, 18 In or-
der to eleet officers and appoint
members to serve on special com
mittees for the schcool year.
The Sinton High School FHA will
hold lb first meeting Thursday at
7.30. A treasurer will he elected
for the 1884 *3 term,
A pep-rally will be held as usual

Miss PiUi Cornwell was Involved
In a go-cart and car accident laat
Monday evening. She was taken to
Memorial Hospital in Corpus Chris-
tl where she underwent surgery for
broken jaw.
Dr. and Mrs. C. J. Tomo and fam-
ily of Pasadena arrived Saturday
morning to spend the Labor Day
holidays In the home of his parents,
Mr, and Mrs. J. B. Tomo and his
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tomo
and family.

end were Mrs. Bernie Klaasen and

of Louis Kasper, brother of Mrs.
Louis Raska.

der of Riviere. Marion Schneider,
who is with the UA. Air Force,

Mrs. Melvin Roecker and family
visited over the weekend in Boerne,
New Braunfels and McQueeney.
While in McQueeny they visited Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Krause. Enroute
home, they visited Mrs. Roetoer’s
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Benny Krause in Victoria.

will be played in Aransas Pass Fri-
day The band and pep squad will be
there to support the Pirates. Hope
