Jack Myers White To
Be Guest Pastor Sun.
At Colleqeport Church
Jack Myers White, second-year
.student at the Austin Presbyterian
Theological Seminary in Austin,
will be guest pastor at the College-
port Presbyterian Clmrch on Sun-
day, April 8.
Mr. White is a native of Rich-
mond, Virginia, and received a
bachelor of arts degree from King
College. He studied for one se-
mester at the University of Vir-
ginia Law School. While in college
he was a student minister, a mem-
ber of the Symphonic Choir, and
was on the collfge newspaper and
yearbook staff.
He is married to the former Miss
Mary Lou Sydnor of Winchester,
Virginia.
Mr. White is experienced in Sun-
day Church School teaching and
i-hoir work. He has been a church
camp counselor for two summers
at Camp Hanover.
As a member of the Lakesid'
Presbyterian Church in Richmond
Mr. White is under the care and
sponsorship of the Hanover Pres-
bytery during his study for th-
ministry.

and Mrs. J. W. Blackwell, B-iy City.
The Pageant and Bell, one of the
social highlights of the year, m
sponsored hy the Student Agron-
omy Society in honor of King Cot-
ton. The event also recognize* cot-
ton as the main cash crop grown
in Texas.
The Pageant will be held hi
Guinn Hall, where King Cotton wJB
be crowned by Governor Price Dan-
iels, King Cotton will then crown
the Cotton Queen who will be
chosen from the Duchesses of the
Pageant. The Ball will he held
in Sbisa Hall following the crown-
ing.
Seniors elected to the King’*
Court include Zane Richberg, Rom-
eoe; Wallace Menn, Frankim;
Charles Schwerter, Wall; arid Jhn
Hill, Tulin. Juniors elected inctifim
Roeneal Boles, Winters; Vincent.
Haby, Castroville; and James Grif-
fith, Paint Creek. The sophomom
elected was Jimmy Alston from
Temple.

Trinity Baptist Church
Sunday, April 8-15
A Spring Revival will be held at
the Trinity Baptist Church Sunday,
>Ptil 8 through Sunday, April 15
with Rev. Jimmie Mize conducting
the services and Rev. Jerry Lyons
song leader.
The services will be held dailv at
9:30 in the morning and 7:30 each
evening.
Rev. Mize is a son of Mrs. F. A
Mize of this city. Following his
graduation from Palacios High
School he attended the University
of Corpus Christi aid Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in
Fort Worth. For the past six year,
he har. been pastor of the North-
side Baptist Church in Victoria

The April 2 meeting of Girt
Scout Troop 5 was called to jrrikar
by Eileen Gideon.

Buffaloe, vice-president; Becky
Feather, scribe and Patti Ander-
son, treasurer.
Reports were given on certain
things hy Marcille Dollery. Holly
Harrison and Patti Anderson, then
we played games.

Club Meets; Appoint
Delegate to Federation
The Tres Palacios Garden Clut
met Tuesday afternoon at the
home of Miss Minda Barr with
Mrs. E. I. Chiles, Sr. as co-hostess.
Tvvelve members were present
and enjoyed the program givpn bv
Mrs. A. E. Louderback and Mrs.
Roland Florip on “Successful Gar-
dens” and “Dahlias”.
Mrs. Louderback announced that
the Federation of Women’s Clubs
would meet in Palacios April 14
with the Alapha Club as hostess.
Mrs. Guy Claybourn was appointed
as club delegate.
During the social hour, the host-
esses served doughnuts, coftee and
Easter candies.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Mrs. Mabel Ruthven on
April 24.

Celebrates Birthday
Visiting in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Early Legg on March 28 were
a host of friends and relatives who
came to wish Mrs. Legg a happy
birthday.
A delightful lunch of salad, sand-
wiches, cake, pie, potato chips,
cookies and coffee was served buf-
fet style and enjoyed by all.
After the gifts were opened and
admired, Happy Birthday was sung
by the group.
