Medina 4-H Club was hebl on
October 1 1, 1908, at 8 p.m.
The meeting was carried on
with parliamentary procedure.
A bake eontest for the Youth
Expedition was also discussed.

the people and their farming
was like.

NEW PREACHER AT MEDINA
The College Avenue church of
Christ has a new evangelist, B.
R. Harding of Murfreesboro,
Tennessee, i
After preaching in T.ubbock and
Roby, and in several states for
31 years, Mr. Harding is now
living at Camp Randina as man-
ager and serving as full time
preacher for Medina.
Mi. Harding has two grown
sons in service and in college, and
has a 13 year old son, Kenneth,
with him. Their mother died of
cancer in 1959.
Besides preaching Mr. Harding
has worked with orphan homes
and has taught speech and Eng-
lish in public and Christian
schools. His most recent job was
in Waukegan; Illinois.

At a recent meeting the Me-
dina 4-H Club members elected
officers for 1968-19<>9. Officers
elected were: President, Marilyn
Fan’s; Vice-President. JoNell
Bruchmiller; Secretary-Treasur-
er Jackie Hubble; Reporter. Jan-
ice Anderson; Council Delegate.

non Faris and Mr. A. W Drain
were ..elected as adult leaders.
Present at this meeting were

The program at the meeting
of the Medina Rotary Club on
October 8 was an explanation of
how the InterAet, the high school
group sponsored by Rotary Clubs,
operated. It begins with the
first year of high school, for
both boys and girls, and con-
tinues through the four years of
high school. Projects are set up
under the direction of high school
staff, and assisted by the Inter-
Aet Committee of the Rotary
Club.
The speaker was Fred J. Sil-
ver InterAet Chairman of the
Rotary Club at- Alamo Heights,
San Antonio.
Visitors were; Griffin King,
from the Kcrrville Club, and
Willard Jones.

be given a reception in the H.E.

There will he a homecoming fol-
lowing this in the auditorium,
with cveyone invited to attend.
A games party at 8 p.m. in the
school lunch room wil he the
climax to the two week festivi-
ties.

and Nancy and Mrs.. Teresa
Eckert of Austin spent the week-
end with his dad, Mr. J. H. Lewis.
Air. and Airs. Tex Anderson
and Air. and Mrs. Sherrill John-
son have returned home after
spending the past ten days on
an Air tour visiting many in-
teresting spots in Texas.
Mrs. Bill Allen underwent sur-
gery at Peterson hospital in Kerr-
ville last Thursday, and will re-
turn home this week. We wish
her a speedy recovery.
Airs. George Hubbell has re-
turned home after visiting, hot'-,-
daughte^i and Sons in South
Texas.
Mr and Mrs. Orville Wier visit-
ed his aunt. Airs. Edna Cochran,
who-is .seriously ill in a Burnet
Hospital. Tuesday afternoon. She
is improving and was to he mov-
ed to San Antonio ns soon as
she was able.
Mrs. Aliikler of Ingleside is
here visiting in the home of her
daughter, and family, Mr. and
Airs. Carl Moffett.
Air. and Mrs. Royce Baker of
Wimberly visited friends and
relatives here Monday .evening.
Those visiting in the home of
All. and Mr-. Ernest Koehler
Sunday were: Air. and Airs. Sam
Koehler and family, Sammy and
Gloria, of Hondo, Airs. Pearl
Pimentel, and James Grover of
San Antonio.
All. and Airs. Rill Craddock
visited their parents at Robert
Lee over the week-end.
We were so sorry to learn
Mrs. Ira Bell had to he admitted
to Alatagorda County Hospital
in Bay City last week while she
•and -Mi, Bell were there visiting
his niece and family. Mr. Bell
returned home with Mr, and
Airs. Mayfield, hut Air-. Bell is
still there and will probably re-
main for the rest of this week.
We wish her a speedy recovery.
Earl Weed returned home last
Wednesday after spending two
days in the Nix Hospital. He
will re-enter the hospital on Alon-
day, October 21st, for major
surgery on the 22nd. His many
friends wish him a speedy re-
covery.
Gary Stokes of S.W.T., San
Marcos spent the week-end with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs, B. II.
Stokes and Alana,
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mayfield
and Airs. F. Y. Tankersk-y visited
in the home of Air. and Mrs. Jerry
Mayfield and Roddy Ray in
Bonne Sunday afternoon, and

I.ittle Aliss Kimberly Hanna,
daughter of Air. and Airs. Jon
Hanna, underwent a tonsilectomy
at Peterson hospital last Thurs-
day, but is now at home and
doing nicely.
Sorry to report Clyde Medford
was taken to New Braunfels last
week by his son in law, Harry
TrenkelLu-h, who resides in New
Braunfels. Mr. Medford is un-
dei the care of a-doctor, hut we
under-tand he may come home
this week-end. Airs. Medford
accompanied him to New Braun-
fels. We wish him a speedy re-
covery.
Eldon Moffett of Houston is
vacationing and visiting his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. MbT-'
fett and, other relatives.

At a meeting of the Bandera County School Board September 24,
ij was ruled that the description of Bus route No. 1 be returned
lor corrections.
Concerning these corrections, it was asked that pupils living
less than two miles from school not he picked up lev the bus It
was also sue .listed Cat the distance to the Baxter stop he measured,
and the bus turn around at that point rather than proceed the entire
1.8 miles.
In the event there should ho some qtiestion concerning the action
taken by the County School Board, and you .would.like to'meet with
them a meeting will' he arranged.
