Not a Victory of spoils but a Victory of toil a Vic-
tory of endurance born; a pursuance of an inspira-
tion; the development of an ideal.
Perseverance plodding the lanes of service to the
Promised Land of Leadership. But the goal is ever
onward. Attaining Leadership is hut the prelude to
maintaining Leadership.
Service must be ceaseless seeking and developing
higher standards; accepting the most modern inter-
pretations of Service; the most efficient facilities;
exercising the most progressive and aggressive meth-
ods in merchandising; establishing greater buying
resources competitive advantages and value achieve-
ments; Victor' yes but not vainglorious Victory; rather a
Victoiy that regards success only as an evidence of
community trust to be pecpetuated b still greater de-
grees of Service.
