Is Your House Or Building
Numbered Correctly?
We have received numerous
complaints concerning incor-
rect or non-existant house or
building numbers.
Emergency medical, fire and
police services as well as
home delivery services are
having a hard time respond-
ing to these addresses.
Under Ordinance #70-11,
Section 1 requires that all
buildings be numbered in
some conspicuous place on
the front of the building.
Section 2 requires all persons
or occupants of such
buildings to apply to the City
Manager for the proper
number, failure to or refusing
to put the proper number on
the structure could result in a
citation to apear in Municipal
Court. In order to afford
those with incorrect numbers
or non-existant numbers an
opportunity to comply with
the ordinance the city staff
will conduct a block by block
survey and notify you in
writing if you house or
building number is incorrect.
After notification, we will
re-survey the house numbers
within 30 to 45 days for
compliance. You need to
notify the different utility
companies or anyone else of
your correct address after its
been changed.
There are many house and
building numbers which are
correct, so please wait until
you receive a notification
letter before you change any
numbers.
appreciated by everyone who
needs to be able to locate the
correct house or building
when searching out an
address.
