Mr and Mrs. Allen Eaves of
Wichiia Falls are the parents
of their third daughter, Melinda
Lou, born in a Wichita Falls hos-
pital this past week. She weighed
5 lbs. 101 ozs. Maternal grand
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Schroeder.
The sixth grade girls held
their fourth 4-H meeting of the
year this past week. It was de-
cided to make chocolate fudge
as the project in the December
meeting. The ingredients will be
brought by Mrs. Cleus Wolf, an
adult leader, and also by Imelda
Berend, Patty Veitenheimer, Ann
Frerich and Cathy Schroeder.
Piano and Organ
Recital Presented
Piano and organ students of
Mrs. Douglas Wilson, 613 S. Cen-
ter, were presented in a Christ-
mas recital in the Wilson home,
Sunday afternoon.
Students, from beginners
through high school, presented
solos and ensemble numbers
with a high degree of skill and
artistry.
Those pertorming on the Sun-
day afternoon program were
Kandace Bell, Rheta Nell Cross,
Sandra Franklin, Nancy Gage,
Diane Horany, Lisa Lewis, Pam-
ela Martin, Kerri Matthews, De-
Lane McGriff, Luann Morris,
Debbie Peters, Mindy Rodgers,
Dolores Schlabs, Deborah Thom-
as, Denise Trent, Susie Wallace,
Connie Wright, Barbara Wylie
and Virginia Wylie.
Diane Denhart was unable to
be present.
Three groups of organ and
piano duos closed the program.
Virginia Wylie at the piano and
Mrs. Wilson at the organ offered
the Malotte setting of “The
Lord’s Prayer.’’ Dolores Schlabs
and Mrs .Wilson played two
Christmas numbers: “O Come All
Ye Faithful," and "0 Holy
Night”.
Virginia and Barbara Wylie,
played organ and piano duets,
’Hark, The Herald Angels Sing,”
and “Silent Night, Holy Night”.
Students assisted Mrs. Wilson
with hostess duties. Members of
the students’ families were guest.
Song were sung by the members
and the president adjourned the
meeting.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile
collected 65 pints of blood Thurs-
day in the K of c Hall in Wind-
thorst. Residents from Windthorst
and Scotland donated blood.
Warm thanks go to the donors
as well as to the people that
wanted to give but were turned
down for various reasons. James
Berend was the chairman of this
drive, which is held annually.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilde
are the parents of a son born
this past week in a Wichita Falls
hospital. The maternal grandpar-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Poirot.
The high school held their
annual bingo in the school gym
Saturday night. The attendance
was lessened somewhat due to
the girls being in a basketball
tournament in Oklaunion. How-
ever, they came home with the
good new that they won second
place in the tournament. Carol
Lindemann suffered a sprained
ankle in the playoffs.
Approximately ten 4-H mem-
bers and their parents attended
a banquet at the American Le-
gion Hall in Archer City Monday
night.
Forty Hours’ Devotion was held
in St. Mary’s Church the first
three days of this week.
Monday night, Dec. 14, will be
the Parent-Teacher Group meet-
ing. The first, second, and filth
grades will present a Christmas
program of music, a rhythm
band, choral speaking, and sing-
ing.
Luncheon Honors
Two Archer Brides
Mrs. Ray Blair of Throckmor-
ton and Miss Karen Barton 1101
S- Ash, here in Archer City, were
honorees for a luncheon at the
Trade Winds Resturant in Wich-
ita Falls, Saturday, Dec. 5, given
by Mrs. Charles Martin.
Mrs. Blair, the former Dianne
Martin, was married recently in
Breckenidge. She is the daughter
of the late Charlie Martin and
Mrs. Martin.
Miss Barton is the bride-elect
of Carl Young III of Tula, Okla.
Wedding vows will be exchanged
Dec. 20, at five o’clock at Faith
Memorial Baptist Church.
Other guests were Mrs. L. N.
Barton, mother of Miss Barton,
Mrs. Lucretia Payne, Miss Lisa
Eckstine, and Mrs. Donnie Mar-
shall.

knitting club for all high school
girls interested in knitting.
Dolores Schlabs, a senior at
ACHS was recently elected D.A.R.

solation after having to forfeit
their first game in Graford
tournament to remain undefeated
this season.

ing games against Olney. The
Junior High girls, seventh and
eighth, won both their games i
over Windthorst.

Is Party Honoree
Melvina “Crickett” Neely was
honoree for a party celebrating
her third birthday, Saturday, Dec.
5, at Faith Memorial Baptist
Church, hosted by her mother,
Mrs. Melvin Neely and her aunt,
Mrs. Lewis Shelley of Olney.
Those present helped Crickett
celebrate her birthday one day
early by playing games, present-
ing gifts and eating refreshments.
Guests included Sadonna Wood,
Bobbie and Jessie Bitner, Jane
Ann Adams, Terry McCurrin,
Donna and Lee Ann Jaynes of
Olney, and Ronnie Shelley, a
cousin from Olney.

We made Christmas gifts for
our mothers. There were nine
girls and two leaders present. Oar
