The Holliday Eagles broke
into the district win column
last Friday night in Henriet-
ta. The Eagles who had been
bested in their first two
district games, beat Henriet-

The return of starting
fullback. Jay Burks, who had
been sidelined with appendi-

Burks carried the ball 20
times for 93 yards to lead all
rushers. The Eagles, known
as grind-it-out type of team
also went to the air for three
touchdowns.
Pat O'Brien, who went 4 of 6
for 61 yards, was on the
giving end of all three of the
scoring aerials. The first
strike went to Les Dolberry in
the first quarter and put
Holliday up by 7-0 after Kelly
Carver kicked the point-

territory. Greg Polk carried
in from 23 yards out, and the
extra point kick tied things
up at 7 apiece.
In the second quarter. Burks
plowed in twice from 3 yards
out after sustained drives.
Carver added both kicks to
push the margin to 21-7. But,
the Eagles weren’t yet
finished. O'Brien fired a
strike to Tom Hamill from
the 13 to add 6 more points
before halftime. *
In the third quarter, O’Brien
again went to the air and hit
Dolberry for a 35 yard TD.
Henrietta closed the margin
to 34-13 in the final stanza,

reception, Hamill added 70
yards rushing on 7 carries.

tackles. Hobgood was credi-
ted with 10, Coats and Parker
with 8 each, and Hinsley with
7. Jeff Wise was credited
with a fumble recovery. The

Don Lucy. On win over
Henrietta. We looked much,
much better. Our kids are not
only learning what they are
supposed to do, they are also
executing. Having Jay (full-
back-linebacker, Burks) back
helped alot.
On Olney. They look a whole
lot like they did last year.
They run the option a great
deal, but they mix the pass in
too. It should be a really good
football game.
