Trojans
Fall To Knights
The Windthorst Trojans
traveled to Wichita Falls
Friday night to do battle with
the Notre Dame Knights.
When the dust cleared in the
Knights new stadium, the
Trojans bid for a comeback
was felled by a penalty. It
happened to be one of the
many that the Trojans got
during the evening---over
100 yards worth.
Notre Dame scored twice in
the first half for a 13-0 lead.
Windthorst apparently had 6
of those points back on a 60
yard punt return by Scott
Schroeder. But a clipping call
nullified the only Trojan
threat of the first half.
In the 3rd quarter,
Windthorst put together a
12-play 70 yard drive. With
Ray Steinberger and Scott
Schroeder pounding out all of
the yardage on the ground,
the Trojans raileyed to within
6 points on Steinberger’s 2
yard run and extra point kick.
All 122 of the Trojans yards
came on the ground with
Schroeder picking up 50,
Steinberger, 41, and Tim
Schreiber, 32.
Windthorst will travel to
Seymour tomorrow night for
their last non-district game.
The Panthers are 1-3 for the
season after losing to Electra
Friday night. The Trojans
would like to bring back their
first victory of the year to get
up a head of steam for
district play.

October will be the kick off
month to obtain support for a
city park. The Holliday City
Council has set aside a
portion of the proposed
Revenue Sharing budget for
a park fund. Do you have an
idea or would you like to help
with this project? If so,
please contact Doris Owens
at 586-0028. Your suggestion
as to what you would like to
see incorporated in the park
and how you would like to
help, will make the park a
reality. The park project is
not affiliated with any single
organization or group of
citizens. It is a city-wide
project. If you or your group
would like to help, please
contact Mrs. Owens. An
account will be opened soon
to store the donations in until
we get into construction.
Would you like to be among
the first? Your gift will be tax
gnuciB wuu »b——-------- deductible and we will be
ta this past week. The scores helping ourselves to a better
were 34-12 and 36-0. The CAunoN: AT TH,S
Junior Varsity lost their TJME DORIS OWENS,
k game 13-12. Football buffs
f should keep an eye on these
games, they are on the right
road. Say, you guys, we are
proud of you.
Dr. E.T. Thornton has
received his new x-ray
machine and it will be in
operation by the time this
gets to you. We were in a
real need for this service. Dr.
Thornton is really putting in
■ lot of effort into the
Holliday office and we are
reaping the benefits of his
services. At the Holliday-
Boyd game, one of the
players was injured and it
was necessary to take him to
the Bethania Regional Hospi-
tal for x-rays. The trip would
have or could have been
avoided, had Dr. E.T.
Thornton’s clinic been so
equipped...The clinic still
lacks a pharmacy and
hopefuly we will see the day
come that it too will be
operations. Meanwhile, a
thank you goes out to Dr.
E.T. and the county for
providing us once again a
much needed service.
