Uncle Dies Sunday
Sam Pennartz, uncle of Mrs.
Harry Hannah of 303 N. Martin,
died suddenly in a Floresville
hospital, Sunday, December 27.
Pennartz, who lived in Archer
County approximately 35 years
ago, was in his seventies. Burial
was in Floresville, Tuesday, Dec.
2», following services at 10:30
a m., there.
Pennartz was marred to the
former Annie Lowack. He is
survived by a number of nieces
and nephews in Archer City and
Windthorst.
Personals
Dr. Frank D. Threadgill of
Washington D. C- spent the Christ-
mas holidays in Archer City at-
tending to business holdings and
visiting his cousin Mary Dycus
Griffin and her daughter’s family
the Newt O’Keefes. The entire
group were guests for Christmas
dinner in the home of Mrs. J. L.
O'Keefe. Threadgill is the son
of the late Eula Dycus of Olney,
and spent much time as a young
boy visiting in the home of the
H- K. Dycus family.
Christmas dinner guests in the
Wayne Ray home, 413 W. Plum,
were Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Pettit
and daughter, Christena of Fort
Worth, and their daughter's fam-
ilies to include, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Roderiguez and children,
Stan, Tena, Georgia Lee and
Charles Wayne of Albany; Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Gage and daughters,
Nancy, Marie, and Mary Beth, of
Archer City.

The winners of the Christmas
scenes erected outside the homes
in Windthorst, a contest sponsor-
ed by St. Joseph’s Society and
judged by the C. Y 0. the Sun-
day night before Christmas, were:
first place, the Hank Scheffe
home, second place, the Albert
Ostermann home, and tied for
third place were Mrs. Rosella
Berend and the A1 Veitenheim-
er’s.
That night the C. Y. O. instilled
the real Christmas spirit into
the hearts of many when they
sang carols at many homes. Lar-
ry Berend is the president of this
organization.

Visitors in the Howard Neeb
home over Christmas were his
parents, the H. W. Neebs from
Cross Plains, Monty Neeb from
Lubbock, and Mr. and Mrs. Sheri
Taylor and Ricky from Wasco,
Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Brugger
have moved into their new home
about a mile northeast of town.
Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Wolf,
Michelle and Doris, attended the
Archer City vs. Ingleside football
game at Austin the Saturday be-
fore Christmas, along with many
other well-wishers in this locale.
Roy Pennartz the 3-year-old son
of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pennartz,
received third degree burns on
his hand and arm recently when
it accidentally came into contact
with a container of hot rendered
lard.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wolf of
Muenster visited the week-end
before Christmas with the George
Beamans and relatives here.
The fifth 4-H meeting of the
year was held by the 6th grade
girls on December 17. A demon-
stration on fudge making was
given and sampled by all the
members. It was decided to
make banana milk shakes at the
next meeting, January 7. All the
members were present at the
meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hoff and
Claude,, home from Texas A. and
M- for the holidays, visited their
daughter and family, the Reuben
Jenkins’, at Fort Worth, over
Christmas.
Thirteen Fourth Degree Knights
of Columbus members held honor
guard during Midnight Mass on
Christmas in St. Mary's Catholic
church. The congregation join-
ed in with the choir in singing
the High Mass.
Ed Zihlman sustained two
broken toes on his left foot in an
accident while he was working
at the Humble Station several
days before Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. Alois Schroeder
are the parents of a baby girl,
born in the Archer County Hos-
pital Dec. 21. She tipped the
scales at 8 lbs. 61 ozs. and is
named Rena Ann. Four sisters
and two brothers welcomed her
home on Christmas day. Pater-
nal grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Schroeder and the
maternal grandfather is Anton
Wolf.
Mrs. Charles Weathered (Mary
Jo) and two daughters, Martha
and Diane, from Amarilla, visited
her father, Anton Wolf, and other
relatives over the holidays.
A boy was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Berend on Christmas
Eve at the Bethania Hospital in
Wichita Falls. He Is Bradley Al-
len and weighed 8 lbs., 41 ozs.
Three sisters and two brothers
welcomed him home. The pater-
nal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
a J. Berend and the maternal
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
George Humpert.
After attending the wedding of
her sister and visiting her family
for a month, Mrs. Peter Schick
(the former Doris Lee Horn) and
four boys left last Tuesday to
join her husband in Wells, Mich-
igan. Peter is employed by Na-
tional Cash Register Company,
and after attending Electronics
Computer School was transferred
to Michigan.
Attending the funeral Saturday
of their grand-nephew, Eddie
Brenneis, 16, of Duncan, Okla.,
were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Veiten-
heimer, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
Meurer, Mrs. Frank Teichman,
and also Mrs. Robert Morath of
Wichita Falls. He and another
companion were drowning vic-
tims while duck hunting.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wolf are
the proud parents of their first
child,, a girl, born Sunday morn-
ing, Dec. 27. in the Bethania Hos-
pital in Wichita Falls. Regina
Ann weighed 7 lbs., 3 ozs. Pa-
ternal grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Mike Wolf and Maternal
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
George Wilde of Scotland.
Miss Rosemarie Schreiber,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Schreiber, is home for the holi-
lays from school at Incarnate
Word Convent in St. Louis, Mo.
