Echoes From Windthorst

the WHS Senior Class of
1975 were honored at their
Commencement Exercises
last Sunday evening. The
program opened with the in-
vocation by Rev. Getus Post
followed by choral selections
by the seventh grade junior
high choir. The salutatory
address was given by David
Sutton and the valedictory
address was by Ann Oster-
mann. Dr. John Worthan,
MD, of Wichita Falls, gave
the commencement address.
Superintendent Howard
Neeb presented the special
awards; valedictorian and
salutatorian awards went to
Ann Ostermann and David
Sutton; the DAR award went
to Joan Loran; $100 Dale
Hoff scholarship award went
to Julie Conrady; and the
Archer County TSTA schol-
arship went to Julie Meurer.
The 1974-75 Best All-Around
Boy award went to Allen
Taliferro and the Best All-
Around Girl award went to
Julie Meurer.
Honor students recog-
nized were seniors, Joan Lo-
ran and Julie Meurer; jun-
ior, Albert Ostermann; soph-
omores, Inez Meurer, Linda
Munchrath and Chris Neeb;
and freshmen, Jeannine
Koetter and Barbara Linde-
man. These students quali-
fied for honors by maintain-
ing a 90 or above grade
average in at least four sub-
jects for the year.
Adolph Veitenheimer,
school board president, pre-
sented the diplomas to the
students. The choir was di-
rected by Mrs. Jane Tali-
ferro and Mrs. Glenda Sch-
roeder played the piano for
the Processional and Re-
cessional.

and Mrs. S. R. Wolf were in
South Texas last week, Sun-
day to Thursday, attending
the State K of C Conventio -
in Beaumont. They reported

services were held for her

her mother was found dead
of an apparent heart attack
last Friday morning. Ser-
vices were conducted for her
Sunday afternoon, May 25,
in Azle. Mr. and Mrs.
Simons and their family re-
sided here for a number of
years. A representation of
local residents attended the
funeral services.
Teddy and Vicki Neeb and
little Scott spent Memorial
Day weekend visiting with
their folks, the Howard
Neeba and the Lawrence
Schroeders and other rela-
tives. Teddy Is associated
with the AMPI in New Mex-
ico.
Mrs. Elmer Muschany
and Patty of St. Louis were
here last weekend for the
graduation of their grandson
and brother, David Sutton.
They also visited with Danny
Sutton, Mrs. Josephine Wolf
and the Bill Taliferros.

brated her 90th birthday

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hoff
have received the news of a
new granddaughter born
Saturday, May 24, to Pat
and Paulette Schreiber of
Burbank, Calif. She weighed
7 lbs. 6 ozs. and was named
Leah Michelle. Elsie, the
proud grandmother, flew to
California last Monday to
help out with the new baby
for about a week.

ber and maternal great-
grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Hoff and Mrs.

scheduled for surgery Wed-
nesday, May 28, at the Chil-
dren's Medical Hospital In
Dallas. His parents, Mr. and
Mra. Jee Schreiber accom-
panied him. Cards and let-
ters can be sent to the hos-
pital, 1935 Amelia St.
Members of the Christian
Mother’s Society met last
week for a Sewing Day for
the Missions. A comforter
bed covering was mad; and
hospital gown, pads and
bandages were prepared and
added to other articles to be
taken to the Catholic State
League convention in June
at Houston. A covered-dish
luncheon at noon was en-
joyed by the ladies and a
meeting was held later in
the afternoon. President
Gara Veitenheimer appoint-
ed a committee to make
plans for a celebration on
July 6 to honor six sisters
from our town who have
been in their respective re-

members; this is a CYO-
sponsored project that our
focal youth are working on to
combat smut in magazines,
movies, and television. The
sewing committee reported
on the need for new servers’
robes. Anna Mae Veitenhei-
mer volunteered to alter one
of the black robes formerly
used by the Knights of Co-
lumbus to see if that would
be satisfactory. v
Plans for an auction sale
will be finalized later in the
summer; all are asked to
please save items for this
project,

Mrs. Gary Hoff was feted
with a pink and blue baby
shower last Saturday after-
noon in the Bobby Lindeman
home. About 30 friends and
relatives attended and show-
ered the mother-to-be with
many pretty baby items.
Hostesses were Beverly Lin-

Carolyn Berend.

Wichita Falls last Saturday
were Danny Joe Schroeder
who received a Bachelor's
Degree in Business Admin-
istration, Nelda Wolf Cole-
man who received an Asso-
ciate of Science Degree in
Nursing, and Mary C. Zihl-
man Dalrymple who re-
ceived a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Sociology. They
are the children of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Schroeder, Mr.
and Mrs. Garence Wolf and
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zihlman,
respectively.

E. A. Hoff was hospital-
ized in Wichita Falls for sev-
eral days following surgery.
He is reportedly doing fine
now.
Four-year-old Jon Keller,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Keller, broke his leg last
week; a pin was placed in it
and he will require traction
for about four weeks before
a cast will be applied. He is
in the Archer County Hos-
pital.
