Amy Lewis, retiring Worthy Ma
tron. presided during the open-
ing session and introduced the
installing officers which included:

Matron Pat Holt, and newly in-

Rites In Holliday
Mrs J H I'eckert, mother of
T H L'eckert of Holliday, was
buried Monday. June 15. in the
Holliday Cemetery, following
funeral services from the Lunn
Funeral Home Chapel in Olney.
Mrs. L'eckert. 85, died follow-
ing an extended illness in an Ol-
ney hospital.
She was a native of Benjamin
but moved to Olney. with her
husband, about 15 years ago.
Survivors, other than Ueckert
of Holliday, include her husband
and a daughter. Mrs. H. L. Smith-
wick of Olney. and a sister. Mrs.
Mary Stegall, of Holliday; six
grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.

After the ceremony members
of the Chapter presented the
Junior Past Matron, Amy Lewis,
with a Past Marton’s pin and
Junior Past Patron, Bert Ball,
with a jewelry holder. Gifts were
also presented to the installing
officers.
There were approximately 75
attending the meeting from Wich-
ita Falls, Archer City, Iowa Park.
Electra. Ardmore. Okla. and
Bethley, Okla. Mr and Mrs.
Clyde Jackson from Ardmore,
Okla. are the parents of our
Worthy Matron. Pat Holt. Pat's
brother and his wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Grant Jackson from Bethley,
Okla. were present.
During the informal social
hour held following the ceremony-
lovely refreshments were served
in the dining hall. The hall and
dining room was beautifully dec-
orated in the Worthy Matrons
chosen colors of Peacock blue and
pink The officers dresses were
all peacock blue.
Due to illness in the family
Loraine Hoeing was unabie to at-
tend and will be installed as
chaplain in the next meeting.

Four girls from Archer City-
will leave Friday for Camp Le
toli, Camp Fire resident camp,
at Saint Jo.
Those attending for the 10 day
camp will be Hollie Jane Fulton,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Fulton; Nancy and Marie Gage,
daughters of Mr and Mrs. Bill
Gage and Edith Ann Miller,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bud
Miller.
This will be the first trip for
all of the girls except Nancy and
this will make her third trip to
Letoli.
Hollie Jane and Nancy are
Camp Fire girls and Marie and
Edith Ann belong to the Bluebird
group.

A stork shower honoring Mrs.
B. E. Anderson of this city was
held Saturday, June 13, at the
home of Mrs. O M. Wylie, who
shared hostess duties with Mrs.
L. C. Smith, mother of the hon-
oree. and Mrs. Joyce Graves.

Killian Heads
Cancer Society
The annual meeting of the
Archer County unit, American
Cancer Society, was held at
Archer City last week, with elec-
tion of officers as the principal
item of business. Upon the rec-
ommendation of the nominating
committee, these officers were
re-elected: R. A. Killian, presi-
dent, Mrs. Charles V. Lough, sec-
lctary and Mrs. Fred Reeves,
tieasurer. Paul O. Wylie was
elected to succeed Mrs. Jack Rob
ertson as vice-president.

that during her tenure as public
education chairman, she had,

films to some 1500 people, with
the majority of them students.
