C.C. KUNGMAN
Wylie friends have been
advised of the death of the
Rev. C.C. Klingman. Rev.
Klingman, who was a
resident of Commanche,
passed away in an Austin
hospital. He was 97.
Rev. Klingman was pastor of
the First Christian Church
here for a number of years
during which time he
acquired a number of friends
throughout the community as
both he and the late Mrs.
Klingman were active in a
number of local organiza-
tions.
He is survived by two sons,
Charles L. Klingman of
Albuquerque, N.M. and
Robert Klingman of Austin.
Also surviving are six
grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Grove Hill
Cemetery in Dallas.
MARY HELEN MOON
Mary Helen Moon, 54, of
Wylie, passed away Monday,
August 21, 1978 at Arlington
Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 6,
1923, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Redden. She
married Harry Moon on May
9, 1945 in Dallas.

of Wylie, and several nieces
and nephews.

August 25, 1978 at Medical
City in Dallas. He was born
April 19, 1916 in Johnson
County, the son of Toni L.
and Frances Gossett. He was
married to Ruby Foster on
December 7, 1935 in
Rockwall, Texas, and was a
veteran of World War II.

Article I. Designation of
One-Way Street.
The 100 Block of West
Marble is designated as
One-Way in the direction of
East. The Traffic Engineer is
empowered to cause to be
installed traffic control de-
vices in accordance with
Ordinance #78-17, Article IV,
Section 1.
Article II. Designation of
One-Way Alley
The alley transversing South
to North between the 100
block of West Marble and
West Jefferson is designated
as One-Way in the direction
of North. The Traffic
Engineer is empowered to
cause to be installed traffic
control devices in accordance
with Ordinance #78-17,
Article IV, Section 1.
shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and, upon
conviction, shall be subject to
a fine of not more than two
hundred dollars($200).
Section 2. Severability: Same
as Ordinance#78-17, Article
IX Section 2.
Article IV Declaring an
Emergency.
The fact that there are no
adequate controls creates a
hazard and endangers the
health, safety, and welfare of
the City of Wylie, it is hereby
declared to be an emergency
and this Ordinance shall take
effect upon final passage
hereof, and installation of
such traffic control devices.

The 1978-79 Student Council
has already begun to function
The officers were elected last
Spring and have been
actively planning the new
year’s activities through-
out the summer.
The first week of school the
officers will host a First
Annual “Get Acquainted”
Party for all the students
coming to W.H.S. for the
first time this year. It will be
held on Thursday, August 31
at 7:00 p.m. The students will
meet at the high school and
then go the home of
Margaret and Joe George for
weiner roast and swimming.
Representatives from each
class will be elected
Thursday, also. There will be
two boys and two girls from
each grade chosen. They will
also represent the high
school as they are observable
by the community while
selling the programs at the
football games, hosting
dances after the ballgames,
participating in Christmas
Parade, and co-hosting
various activities at the High
School. These are the
students responsible for
organizing and coordinating
the school elections, as-
semblies and many of the
social activities.
The officers presented their
plans to the high school
during In-Service Training.
They enthusiastically de-
clared “we will do everthing
possible to make this the best
year ever."

happens ationce, or so it seems! Members of
our staff* here at The News have had their
problems with personal illness or illness in
their families. In the midst of all this we have
had some malfunctions of our equipment
which have left the quality of our production
with a bit to be desired. But things look
brighter and hopefully we’ll be back to
normal,oi>^ of these days Laura Foster has
been appointed to head the local campaign for
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.....
Howard Bentley and family back in the area
after having lived for a number of years in
Midland. Says it’s good to be back!.....Most
report enjoyable Labor Day weekend.....Billy
Jack Payne reporting brisk sales of autos and
pickups. He’s on Highway 78..... Expect a
large following of Pirate fans to be on hand for
the opening game this Friday night when
Lancaster invades the Pirate Den. The
invaders are a strong 3-A aggregation and will
give the local lads a real test for the season
opener.....The rain and cooler temperatures
last week proved a welcome relief for parched
Wylieites. They’ve battled more hundred
degrees days this summer than in years.....
Mark your calendar for the Sept. 19th public
hearing at City Hall on the proposed new
routing for FM-544.....
