The cooler the home,
the warmer the marriage.
Marriages may be made in heaven,
but it’s hard to keep them heavenly when
it’s hotter than blazes.
That’s where central gas air condi-
tioning comes in. It can bring you together.
All summer long. As close as you want.
All summer long.
And it won’t cost you much either.
In fact, if you have gas heating in your
home, you could easily have half a central
air conditioning system already. Because
you may be able to use the duct work and
furnace blower you already have. That
saves about fifty percent on installation
costs.
That’s just part of the savings. Gas
costs less to operate than electricity. And
gas air conditioning owners get special-
low rates during the long hot summer
months.
But you’ll save more than money
with gas., You’ll save time and energy,
too. Because with central gas air condi-
tioning there are fewer moving parts.
Fewer breakdowns. Fewer repairs.
This summer, have central gas air
conditioning installed. For loves sake.

Faces of God
MEET THE MIGHT_HAVE__
BEENS
The highways of history are
strewn with the wreckage of
men and women who "might
have been" towering giants
in the service of the Lord.
Some of these, like Judas
•Iscariot, attached themselves
to wrong causes. Some of
them, like Samson, played
with evil until they were un-
able to extricare themselves.
Others, like Methuselah, just
frittered away their time and
opportunity, doing nothing of
significance. .Still others,
like Nicodemus, knew what
they should do, and fully in-
tended to do it sometime,
but indecision defeated them.
What a different world this
might have been if Alexander
or Caesar, or Napoleon had
enlisted in God's army and
fought for the kingdom of
God, rather than their own
power and glory. It is said
that Alexander wept because
there were no more worlds to
conquer. It is too bad that he
did not recognize the world
of evil as a fit antagonist for
his very considerable talents
for fighting.
This author would not want
to prejudge these might-have
beens, but based on the evi-
dence at hand thqf did not
measure up to their opportun-
ities for service which God
gave them. Nor would we de-
preciate the good which some
of them did; but they failed
according to the record, to
accomplish what God expect-
ed of them. The test of a
man is not how he stands in
his own estimation, nor in
the esteem of his fellowmen,
but how he stands in the sight
of God. "Man looks on the
outward appearance, but the
Lord looks on the heart" (1
Sam. 16:7). Jesus cried over
Jerusalem, "How often would
I have gathered your children
together.... and you would
not!'1 (Matt. 23:37). Here
was a whole city of might-
have-beens.
