Travelers Camp
In Oklahoma
Ken Green of Garland and-
Kenneth Sandridge of Tulsa,
Okla., were chosen wagon-
masters for the June campout
of the North Texas Happy
Travelers, held at Arrowhead
State Park in Oklahoma.
E ighteen Huntsman Camper
a total of fifty-three members
enjoyed a week end of games
and fun, homemade ice
cream and pot luck supper for
the Saturday evening meaj.
President Ken Green opened
the meeting with the Pledge
of Allegiance, and the busi-
ness meeting got under way.
Plans for attending the Na-
tional Huntsman Rally held
annually was discussed. The
Rally will be held on July 31
through August 1-2-3 at
/isconsins Dells, Wisccmsins,
said to be the home of the
famous Yogi Bear. Several
families from the area plan
to attend the Rally. It was
also noted that the Van Alstyn
Centennial parade is to be
held the same week end as the
Happy Travelers, there fore
the Club will not be able to
participate. It was also voted
to hold the August camp-out
the third week end as some of
the members plan to spend
another week in the Wiscon-
sin area. The JulycBaasen wa-
gon master is Butch Beste of
Whitesboro. Butch has not
chosen his assistant or the area
to be visited. Members will
be notified by the telephone
committee as soon as arrange-
ments are complete.
Fix-It Tip
CARDS of THANKS
I wish to express my sincere
thanks for the lovely flowers
cards, visits and prayers, dur-
ing my stay in the hospital.
Lonnie (Hap) Sanford.
Do not mow wet, slippery
grass. Do not run—walk. Do
not pull the mower toward
you. Do not leave the mower
running if you have to step
away for a moment. Mow
horizontally across a slope:
never up and down.
Most safety precautions
make good maintenance
tips. Keep all nuts and bolts
tight. Check blade mounting
nut for tightness — making
sure the spark plug is dis-
connected first.
Check oil level and change
oil at recommended inter-
vals. Remove blades and
sharpen with a file. File
evenly and keep the blade
balanced. A dull and rough
blade will leave the grass
brown.
Happy Homemaking

When putting rubber cups
on chair legs, insert a metal
washer first. The leg will not
cut through the rubber.
*
Turn an aerosol spray can
upside down and give two or
three short blasts to clear
the nozzle, after you are
through with your spray job.
* *
Car seat belts can be used
for things like securing a
boxed birthday cake or bags
of groceries so that they will
not slip off the seat.
*
Get a repair kit contain-
ing a tube of cement and
patching material to repair
deflated blow-up plastic toys.
* * *
Remove the "tar" on your
hands after peeling sweet
potatoes by rubbing t h e
hands with cooking shorten-
ing and then washing with
soap and water. .
