Rev. J.A. Moody, pastor oj
the church, officiated at the
8 p. m., double ring cere -
mony at an altar decked with
baskets of gladiolus.
Prenuptial slections were
played by Mrs. Virginia Low-
ery. She was accompanied
by the bride's brother, Jerry
Lay, as he sang, "Twelfth of
Never."
Mr. Lay escorted and pre-
sented his daughter in marri-
age,
The bride was attired in a
formal gown of nylon organza.
The empire, chantilly lace
covered bodice featured a
ruffled V neckline and a ruffle
at the bottom of the sheer
tapered long sleeves. The
softly gathered skirt of organ-
za was enhanced with bands of
chantilly lace down the front
She also carried a lace-
edged handkerchief belonging
to her great-grandmother,
Mrs. D.W. Center. She wore
a gold wedding band, belong-
ing to her other grandmother,
Mrs. V.B. Lay, and a blue
jade necklace, a gift from the
bridegroom.
Miss.Pamela Lay of Van
Alstyne was honor attendant
for her sister. Bridesmaids
were Sharon StringfelloW and
Debbie York, both of Van
Alstyne and Brenda Baker of
Howe, sister of the bridegroon
They wore floor length
gowns of sheer floral flocked
fabric over aqua satin with
high necklines, empire waist-
lines and leg-o'mutton sleeves
Miss Lay carried a nosegay of
aqua and white carnations anc.
baby's breath, accented with '
aqua and white ribbon, A sin-
gle stemmed carnation with
aqua ribbon was carried by
each bridesmaid. They wore
white picture hats.

ved as best man. Groomsmen
were Larry Messick and Butch

The Charity Sunday School
Class of the First Baptist
Church met in the home of
Mrs. Janelle Russell, Monday
night for their monthly class
meeting.
Class projects were discuss-
ed and plans to collect dona-
tions for Rev. Elmo Davis of
Hubbard, Texas were review-
: ed.
Mrs. Jan Powers gave the
devotional on "Children".
Refreshments were then
served to eight members and
guests, Mrs. Diana Rollins,
Mrs. Judy Starnes, Kerri, Jay
and Kelli Norman.

Rickey Lynn Hanning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Price Hanning,
of Howe. The wedding will take place on Friday, August
31, eight o'clock in the First United Methodist Church,
Whitesboro, Texas.

knots. She wore a pink
necklace which belonged to
her great-grandmother and
which was worn at her
mother’s wedding.
Miss Patty Parent, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss
Vickie Parent and Miss
Janice Parent, also sisters of
the bride.
They wore floor length
gowns, fashioned after the
bridal gown, in a deep pink
satin with insets of light pink
brocade. Each carried a pink
carnation with pink
streamers.
Willard Lee Griffith
assisted his brother as best
man. Jim Bob Layton was
groomsman and Dewey Ray
Griffith Jr., nephew of the
groom, was ring bearer.
Ushers were Luther Chelf
and Roger Wade. They also
assisted in the lighting of
candles.
The bride’s parents were
hosts for a reception
following the ceremony.
Presiding at the bride’s table
were Mrs. Jack Bryan of
Pottsboro and Mrs. Randell
Hill of Howe and Mrs. C. P.
Floyd.
