An order was passed appro-

onlookers did not care enough ,
to try to save him. I imagine
they felt that they were not
responsible, and would not get
him out. Others may have,
wanted to save the boy, but!
were afraid they would fail!
and lose their own life. .
Still others may not have
been prepared. They may have j
been in such terrible condition'
themselves that they could not
have confronted the most,
shallow water in attempting;
the rescure.
* This is a sad situation,1
but too often we let our friends
drown in this awful world of
sin, when all we had to do was
tell them about Jesus Christ.
The excuses of the people
for not trying to rescue the
boy were probably many, but
they were very flimsy. I won-
der what our excuse will be
when God asks us why we
didn’t “throw out the JJfe
Line.”
