Casebearer
Control Time
Now is the time to control
pecan nut casebearer in Gray-
son County, according to
County Extension Agent Stan-
ley Oakley. Judgements based
on the hatch out of pupae of
the pecan nut casebearer, tim>
to apply insecticides for the
control of this pest in the Dal-
las-Fort Worth area should be
May 29-31. In counties along
the Red River spray should be
applied from June 1-5. The
time may vary in certain cr-
chads and the growers are ask-
ed to watch for eggs and young
larvae entering the young pe-
cans.
According to Oakley, Count
Extension Agent, Guthion,
Zb lone, Sevin, Malathion,
and Toxaphene can be used
to control the pecan nut case-
bearer. People who have pecaj
trees in their backyards should
consider using Malathion or
Sevin. Read the label on the
container and mix the insecti-
cides according to the direc-
tions given onthis label. For
best control apply to the point
of runoff.
A second application of
spray should be applied seven
to ten days after the first for
maximum protection from the
first generation of casebearers.

From The Living Bible
If you believe that Jesus is
the Christ — that he is
God’s Son and your Savior
— then you are a child of
God. And all who love the
Father love his children
too. So yon can find out
how much you” love God’s
children — your brothers
and sisters in the Lord —
by how much you love and
obey God. Loving God
means doing what he tells
us to do, and really, that
isn’t hard at all; for every
child of God can obey him,
defeating sin by trusting
Christ to help him. But
who could possibly fight
and win this battle except
by believing that Jesus is
truly the Son of God?
