CWF officers elected Monday

The CWF of the First Christ-
ian Church met Monday at the
church annex, with Mrs. Man
Hughett and Miss Velma Gee
as hostesses.

President, Mrs. Lois Selby;
Vice President, Mrs. Mary Jay
Secretary, Mrs. Mary Hughett:
Treasurer, Mrs. Neva Davis;
Program Chairman, Mrs. Gen-
eva Marshall; Press Secretary,
Mame Roberts; The installa-
tion service, conducted by Mrs
Marshall was impressive. The
service opened with a quota-
tion from Martin Luther: " I
have held many things in my
hands, and have lost them all;
whatever I have placed in
God’s hands, that I still possess
The theme for the installa-
tion was HANDS. There are
many kinds of hands, said Mrs
Marshall., There are helping
hands, guiding hands, grateful
hands, sympathetic hands,
friendly hands, rugged hands,
clean and dirty hands. "When
we reach our helping hands
to others they should be clean
hands, holy hands. Let us go

named to Dean’s
honor list for 1972
Elizabeth York has been
named to the Dean's Honor
List for the 1972 Spring Seme:
ter at Texas Christian Univer-
sity.
To be eligible for the scho-
lastic honor, a student must
be carrying at least 12 semes-
ter hours in courses that count
toward a degree and must
maintain a 3.5 grade-point,
average on the University's
4.0 scale.
A total of 799 students
were recognized foi* academic
accomplishments during the
spring term. Of the total,
419 were from AddRan Coll =
ege of Arts and Sciences, 68
from M.J. Neeley School of
Business, 129 from the School
of Education, 127 from the
School of Fine Arts and 56
from Harris College of Nurs-
ing.

The evening service will be
brought by Lynn Dale Trox-
tell and Lar ry Vincent.
The Dorchester W.M.S.
met Tuesday, June 6th at
the church. The title of the
program was "Investment in
Missions". Mrs. Viola Trox-
tell had charge of the pro-
gram. Taking part on the
program were Mrs. Troxtell,
Mrs. Rosa Murdock, Mrs.
Fran Frantz, Mrs. Maxine
Stann and Mrs. Mary Roberts,
Landscape and
garden clinic set
Grayson residents will have
an opportunity to find out
what ails those sick and un-
thrifty lawn, garden, and
landscape plants on June 13.
That is the date of Grayson
County's first Landscape and
Garden Clinic. The clinic
will be held at Sher-Den Mall
beginning at 10:00 A.M. and
ending at 6:00 P.M.
Four Extension Service spe-
cialists will be on hand to ob-
serve specimens and make
recommendations concerning
the control of plant diseases,
insects, weed control and ot-
her abnormalities. All resi-
dents are encouraged to bring
specimens from their problem
plants for the experts to look
at.
The clinic is sponsored joi-
ntly by the Grayson County
program Building Committee,
Grayson Garden Clubs, and
Grayson County Home Demon-
stration Clubs. Representa-
tives from these organizations
will be on hand to help you
find the right specialist for
your particular problem. This
is your opportunity to get the
best expert advice at no cost.

FROG JUMP! All you kids

First Baptist Church. We will
have a Frog Jump, Refresh-

Vacation Bible School will
