Court action to test the eli-
gibility of Mayor J. W. Hall
to serve in that capacity is
in process, through the Dis-
trict Attorney's office, accorc
ing to Gary Frantz, spokesmar
for the "Concerned Citizens
Action GroujV here.
Frantz said the group had
been assured by the County
office that the case would be
presented in District Court.
Protest of Hall's eligibility
was made at meetings of the
city council, based on the
residency requirement to hold
the office of mayor. The ci-
ty, acting on advice of the
city attorney, was of the o-
pinion Hall is eligible to hold
the office.

series of lectures sponsored
by the Church of Christ, here
in Howe. Speakers from the \
vicinity have been invited
to treat different related top-
ics each evening. The speci-
fic subjects to be dealt with

dill , Okla. Tuesday-"Is the
Bible God's Word?" by Bill
Wiley of Sherman. Wednesda-
ys Jesus Diety?" by Olden
Cook of Sherman. Thursday-
"Did Jesus Rise From the

Sherman. Friday- "Is Jesus

The Howe Roadrunners
took top honors in the Sher-
man Jaycees Track Meet at
Austin College Saturday.
Winning all three trophies for
Ladies and 59 medals. The
team trophy was. won with
154 points on a 5-3-1 basis.
Outstanding Girls Trophy
went to Sandra Bowen with
5 Gold Medals, a repeat from
last year. This is the 6th timi
in a row for Howe to win this
award. The Mother and Dau-
ghter Trophy went to Mrs.
John Floyd and Cheri. The
girls won 59 medals. They
were awarded on a 1st., 2nd.
and 3rd. basis.
Howe had 38 people enter-
ed in the meet. 31 girls , 2
boys and 5 adults. Senior
girls wo n the 440 relay, San-
dra Bowen, Cindy Cloud, Tex
esa Knight and Kathy Presson.

Walt Schneider has been in-
vited to run in the Dallas mee
Saturday June 10 with the
Cross Country Club Team
known as "The Masters". It
is for men over 40 and will
run a 24 hour relay at Richer
dson beginning at noon on
Saturday and ending noon on
Sunday. It will be on the higl
school track. Several teams
will compete. A ten man
team will run with no substi-
tutes and expect to exceed
200 miles in distance. Funds
are being raised to send Paul
Hoffman to the Olympic try
outs in Oregon. He is a Mara-
thon winner from Richardson.
The next meet is scheduled a
Denton on June 17th.
