daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Patrick A. Kallus of Waco,
and William Lee Dunn, son of
Mrs. Wayne Rolen of Hills-
dale. Michigan, and William
Dunn of Chicago, Illinois,
were married at 2 pm..
Saturday, August 28. at St.
Mary's Church of the As-
sumption in Waco.
The Rev. Emilian Foltyn.
pastor of St. Mary's Church in
Caldwell performed the dou-
ble-ring ceremony. After
exchanging vows, the couple
lit a unity candle. James
Neslony, the bride's uncle,
presented scripture readings.
The bride, given in mar-
riage bv her father, w’ore a
floor-length gown of candle-
light satin. The bodice was
fashioned with a queen anne
neckline, appliqued with
alencon lace and accented
with pearls. Schiffli lace
formed the front and back
yokes and was inset at the top
of the bishop sleeves. The full
skirt was appliqued with
alencon lace, which also edged
the hemline. Three schiffli
lace medallions extended
beyond the chapel-length
train.
The bride and her mother
designed and made her tiered,
fingertip illusion veil, held by
a hand-beaded juliet cap and
edged with schiffli lace. She
carried a crescent shaped
cascade of bouquet of white
Peruvian lilies, white spider
mums, dusty rose split
carnations and baby's breath.
Donna Kallus was her
sister s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were: Michelle
Kallus, Rita Wright. Marcia
Shost and Kathleen Matustik.
They work floor-length gowns
of navy chiffon, topped with a
sheer chiffon over-blouse
fashioned with a jewel
neckline and long, full
sleeves.
Bridesmaids carried cres-
cent-shaped bouquets of two -
tone dusty rose-white pixie
carnations, navy statice and
baby's breath. Karla Wright
was flower girl. She wore a
floor-length dress of candle-
light pima cotton, which was
hand-smocked in navy, and
accented with embroidered
flowers in dusty rose. The
bride's grandmother, Mrs.
Christine Rejcek of Penelope,
did the smocking.
Michael Shost was best man
and groomsmen were: Mark
Dunn, Stephen Kallus,
Michael Smith and Adolph
Wetegrove. Ring bearer was
Jason Neslony.
Randy Cervenka, Larry
Carcare, Jim Knight and
Dennis Kallus ushered.
Music was provided by
organist, Susan Comer. Solo-
ists were Adolph Wetegrove
and the bride's mother,
Wilma Kallus.
Following the ceremony the
couple was honored with a
reception, dinner and dance at
St. Martin's Hall in Tours.
Houseparty members were:
Barbara Hodge. Paula Sva-
cina. Carole Cervenka and
Suzanne Kubala.
Mrs. Dunn is a senior
programmer/analyst for Re-
publicbank in Dallas. The
groom is a senior internal
auditor for Gulf United
Corporation, also in Dallas.
After a honeymoon cruise of
the Caribbean, the couple will
reside in Dallas.
Thirty-eight Kiwanians were
SI. present for our regular
meeting and noon luncheon on
August 25. The following
guests were also present:
Kevin Maler. Brad Burger,
Jimmy Kruse and Mrs.
Geraldine Fellbaum. Special
guests included all West High
coaches: B.J. Komek, George
Kilgo, Don Hanks. George
Snokhous, James Holick,
James "Poo” Welch and Judy
Fofmer.
After our song and pledge
by A1 Payne, Jo, Edd Grimitj
led us in prayer. Kiwanian
Walt Melgren Jr. introduced
our speaker, Coach B.J.
Korenek, who in turn intro-
duced our Trojan coaching
staff. Coach Korenek said he
believes that we would have a
good football team this year.
After the scrimmage game
with Midlothian, the Trojans
impressed us, especially our
defense. The district will be
tough as four teams also have
very good football teams.
Coach mentioned that McGre-
gor was the favorite with
Gatesville (moving down from
4A to 3A) close behind.
Also, you can't count out
Robinson with twenty seniors
on their club; Mexia, with
their speed will be tough
...then we have LaVega,
China Springs (with the same
good quarterback from last
year) and Groesbeck with a
very good offense.
Coach Korenek said the
starting backs would probably
be: QB. Pat Sykora; LH, Kevin
Martin; RH, Clyde Lehmann;
and FB, Darrel Picha. A
couple of surprises so far has
been the play of "Chip" Bajer
at rightend and Pat Stewart, a
sophomore with some speed.
Since the first and second
place teams can advance into
the playoffs, this will give us
and other teams of the district
more incentive to play our
best. It will be area play-offs,
then bi-district.
There are only minor rule
changes this year according to
Coach Korenek. Coach Kor-
enek concluded by saying that
the Trojans will be passing
more this year.
Charlie Harrison's name
was drawn for the door prize.
