Several people had pictures of
their chi Wren with Santa. Con-

the annual raffle.
Be sure and watch for Santa

About the only exercise some
people get is jumping to conclu-
sions.
"Why be good," they ask,
"when bad people prosper and
good people suffer7”
“Look at Job," they say He
was good, and his friends were
bad He had the boils, they the
benefits.”
“Look at Joseph," they add
"He was good, and his master's
wife was bad. She got impor-
tance, he imprisonment."
But the Bible says, "There’s a
reward for the righteous.”
Job’s boils became his bless-
ings; and if Joseph hadn t been
a prisoner, he wouldn't have
become prime minister.
God takes the worst things
that happen to His children and
turns them into the best things.
Yes, He rewards the righteous.
Nell and I have just returned
from a Mediterranean cruise. We
were gone for two weeks, so it
will be impossible to cover
everything in just one column.
Therefore, I will cover only the
highlights in this one and
probably give you another
chapter next week.
The tour sponsor was Compass
International, Inc. of Coeur
d'Arlene, Idaho. Bill Perkins and
his staff did a remarkable job of
coordinating all of the activities.
There were approximately 350
tourists aboard the ship which,
from my point of view, was a
major logistic problem. For the
most part, all scheduled events
were on time. Where there was a
delay, it was generally the result
of a political entity holding things
up. As far as I know, the tour did
not lose a single tourist. I think
there was a close call or two.
We boarded theshipin Athens.
Greece on Friday, November 3.-
We arrived in Athens around
noon on Thursday and had
enough time to visit many of the
ancient ruins that are in the city.
Thursday night we stayed in one
of the finer hotels in the city.
This was a great welcome to the
sights and commentary that was
to follow in the coming days. All
of the speakers were eminently
qualified for they're assigned
tasks. (Names next week).
One of the benefits of this
cruise was the opportunity to
associate with other Christians
and to fellowship with them. We
had dinner each evening with
the same group. There were ten
people at our table, five couples.
There were Roger and Karen,
Larry and Sandra, Don and
Nancy, Gary and Marjean and
Nell and I. Four couples were
from Colorado Springs while Nell
anil 1 were the outsiders. We
didn't feel like outsiders nor were
we treated like outsiders. On the
excursions, all ten of us shared
the same bus, along with about
40 other people.
On these excursions we had a
native assigned to each bus, who
was familiar with I he local area
and the historical significance of
everything we were seeing. In
addition, we had bus captains
who were also experts on what
we were seeing. Our captain was
Ed Hindson, who is vice-
chancellor of Liberty University
and an outstanding Bible scholar
and speaker. Ed kept reminding
us I hat the places we were visiting
were REAL places that were
occupied by REAL people. They
were a part of our Christian
heritage and he made them come
alive for us. More next week.

Thank you so much!
We would like to say thank you to the following for their donation of themselves, products or
financial help to the Friends Thanksgiving Dinner. Because you cared and shared, the true
meaning of Thanksgiving was fulfilled.
