Nors celebrated their fortieth
wedding anniversary, October
20, 1977. They were married at
the Church of the Assumption in
West in 1937.
Their children, Robert and
Marie Nors of Abbott, Marvin
and Joan Nors of Waco,
at the Abbott Parish Hall in
Abbott on Sunday, October 23,
1977.
Many friends and relatives
helped to celebrate this special
occasion.
The couple have seventeen

afternoon. The Rev. William
Benish performed the ceremony
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of
the Assumption in West.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Johnnie A. Soukup of
Route 1, West, and Mr. and
Mrs. Joe F. Machovsky of Route
2, West.
The bride wore a traditional
gown of hand-clipped Chantilly
lace. It was fashioned with a
basque bodice, jeweled neckline
and tiered bouffant skirt which
swept to a cathedral train. A
pearled lace coif held her
fingertip veil.
Miss Bernardene Soukup and
Mrs. George Christensen, sis-
ters of the couple, were honor
attendants. Bridesmaids were
Miss Suzanne Gerik, Mrs.
Raymond Machovsky, Miss
Paula Holecek, Mrs. Harry
Kolar and Miss Patti Stanislav.
Miss Annette Christensen was
flower girl.

The residents will host a
Halloween Party October 31st at
7 p.m. They welcome the Trick
or Treators, young and oid, to
come and enjoy the evening
with them. The residents are
busy decorating the home with
black cats and pumpkins on all
the doors. There are devils,
goblins, ghosts and skeletons
that appear out of nowhere. We
welcome you.

played games with the residents
Wednesday night.
Thursday night, Minister Sam
Armstrong and members of the
Church of Christ conducted
Services.
Mrs. Fay Alexander opened
the Bible Study with prayer on
Friday afternoon. The class read
Chapter 14 of Corinthians.
Sister Rose Ann was leader. An
interesting discussion followed.
Georgia Murphy closed the
study with a prayer.
Father Bill Benish celebrated
Mass Saturday morning.
