Womanly Art Of
Self-Defense
Prevention is the major step
for women to protect themselves
against crimes, believes Paul
Boesch, of Houston. Boesch is
an author and expert in the
field of self-defense for women.
He will be a featured speaker
at the Texas Home Demonstra-
tion Association (THDA) con-
vention in Dallas, Sept, 16-18,
at the Baker Hotel. The talk on
the womanly art of self-defense
Is scheduled for 2:30 Wednes-
day afternoon.
During the past ten years,
major crime has increased
across the nation at an alarm-
ing rate. Crimes against the
person, a large number involv-
ing women, have been among
those showing the greatest in-
crease.
“I!f women would just use
common sense they would pre-
vent many offenses,” Boesch be-
lieves. He cites locking car
doors, not opening doors to
places and screaming if attack-
ed.
“Each woman must make her-
self responsible first for her
own safety," he says. “Each
must believe it can happen to
her.”
