Mrs. W. R. Pettcr of Hubbard.

his parents, brothers and sis-
ter, Mr. and Mrs, William V.

Abbott High School and is em-
ployed by the Texas National

The couple plan to be married
on Sept. 13, 1969 at the Cath-

Mr. and Mrs. Frankie J.
Muehlstein, Jr, are in Eureka
Springs, Ark., on their honey-
moon after their Saturday aft-
ernoon wedding in Immaculate
Heart of Mary Catholic Church
in Abbott. Rev. W. P. Pechal of-
ficiated.
The bride, the former Bar-
bara Ann Kazda, is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis W.
Kazda, Jr., of Abbott. The bride-
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frankie J. Muehlstein of
Abbott.
Mrs. Muehlstein wore a long
sleeved faille and silk gown
with a simulated pearl and cry-
stal studded Alencon lace Wat-
teau train. A jeweled crown held
her full-length illusion veil and
she carried a cascade of roses
surrounding an orchid.
Miss Mary Kazda of Abbott
was her sister's maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Margaret
McGraw of Dallas; Miss Mary
Ann Beseda of Abbott, the
bride’s cousin; and Misses Bet-
ty Ann and Janice Muehlstein
of Abbott, sisters of the bride-
groom. They wore formal blue
georgette crepe empire dresses
with matching capes. Their
headpieces were matching bows
accented with simulated pearls
am', they carried cascades of
white carnations.
Patrick Muehlstein of Abbott
was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Michael Puste-
jovsky of Hillsboro; Dennis
Gerik of Aquilla, the bride-
groom's cousin; Emmerick J.
Pavlas of Waco, the bride’s
cousin; and Steve Vanek of
West.
Ushers were John Kazda of
Colorado City and Richard Kaz-
ria of Fort Worth, brothers of
the bride; Larry Muehlstein of
Dallas, the bridegroom’s cousin;
and George Marusak of Arling-
ton, the bridegroom's brother-
in-law.
Soloist was Aldcn Smith, and
organist was Sandra Sinkule^
The couple’s parents were
hosts for a reception supper
and dance in Linden Hall.
Mrs. Muehlstein graduated
from Abbott High School and
Texas Woman’s University. At
TWU she was vice President of
the senior class and Texas Stu-
dent Nurses' Association. She
is a staff nurse at Parkland
Hospital in Dallas.
The bridegroom is a graduate
of Abbott High, Hill Junior
College and North Texas State
University. He is a teacher with
the Dallas Independent School
District.

Miss Charlene Volcik and
Roger Kirby were married Sat-
urday afternoon in West at the
Catholic Church of the Assump-
tion.
Mrs. Kirby is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Volcik
of West. Mr. and Mrs. Cancil B.
Kirby of Calhoun Falls, S.C., arc
parents of the bridegroom.
Rev. Oliver Johnson perform-
ed the ceremony. Mrs. Ed H,
Grimm was organist and Mrs.
Clarence Talley, Jr., was soloist.
The bride wore an A-linc
satin gown caged in hand-clip-
ped Chantilly lacc which formed
a full chapel-length train. Seed
pearls accented the portrait
neckline and a coif held her
shoulder-length veil. She car-
ried a white carnation bouquet
centered with a purple orchid.
Sister-in-law of the bride,
of honor. Another sister-in-law,
Mrs. Marvin Volcik, was brides-
maid. They wore formal yellow
A-line lace-covered satin gowns
accented by high-rise waistlines
and satin bows.
Matching headpieces of simu-
lated pearls and sequins held
circular veils.
Larry Kirby was his brother's
best man and Marvin Volcik, the
bride’s brother, was groomsman.
Don Janes and Harry Volcik
were ushers. Witnesses were
Danny Volcik and Rudolph Rcj-
cck.
The bride’s parents were hosts
for a supper in St. Joseph's
hail after the ceremony.
Mr, and Mrs. Kirby graduated
from West High School. The
bride was employed by Amcri-
Company. The bridegroom is
employed by TP&L in Dallas
Mrs. Danny Volcik, was matron where the couple will live.

Monday, June 30 from 7 to 9
p.m. at the home of Mrs. Tal
Scott.
Guests were registered by
Miss Cindy Hlavenka, sister of
the groom. Members of the
house party were Misses Sharon
Kudclka and Ellouisc Mynarcik,
who served refreshments of
cake, punch, nuts, mints, and
coffee.
The refreshment table, cen-
tered with an arrangement of
white roses, featured crystal and
silver appointments.
The couple will be married
Friday. July 4 at the Church of
Assumption in West.

Mrs. P. W. Vavra resigned as
secretary and Mrs. John Jaska
was elected to finish her term.
Refreshments were served to
ten members and Mrs. West-
brook.
The next meeting will be July
8, at 8 p.m., at the school.

Feted With Proxy
Stork Shower
A baby show, honoring ex-
pectant mother Mrs. Gary Cas-
sady of Tampa, Florida, (the
former Linda Wilcox), was given
June 21 at the home of her par-
tnts. Hostesses for the occasion
were Mrs. Johnnie Faglie, Mrs.
Carol Hendricks, and Mrs.
Cathy Lupcr.
Due to Mrs. Cassady s health
and the distance involved she
wa: unable to attend, therefore
the shower was held by proxy.
However, during the shower she
called and briefly spoke to each
guest thanking them personally.
Refreshments of cake squares
decorated with different baby
ornaments, mints, and punch
were served. An arrangement of
pink flowers in a white lamb
vase centered the refreshment
table wnieh was covered with a
white iaee doth.
Sunday, June 22, Mrs. Wilcox
flew to Tampa to visit her
daughter and son-in-law, and
carried the many gifts. She
boarded the plane, an Eastern
Airlines Whisper Jet, in Dallas
at 11:25 a.m. and arrived in
Tampa. Florida 1 hour and 52
minutes later.

high, and Mrs. Charles Smaj-

married Rudolph Paul Rizo of
Abbott Saturday in St. Louis
Catholic Church.
Tiie parents of the newlyweds
are Mr. and Mrs. Albin L. Macik
of West and Mr. and Mrs. Refu-
gio Rizo of Abbott.
The bride wore a full-length
empire gown of white peau de
soie with bell sleeves and skirt.
A band of sequins trimmed the
edges of the elbow - length
sleeves and the skirtline. Her
headpiece was a white peau de
soie bow with a shoulder-length
illusion veil. She carried a bou-
quet of white roses centered
with a white orchid.
The sister of the bride. Mrs.
Danny Machac was the matron
of honor. Miss Lydia Rizo of
Fort Worth, sister of the groom,
was bridesmaid. They wore yel-
low bonded crepe gowns with
ribbon tit belts. Their head-
pieces were yellow organdy
rosettes with matching tulle
veils and they carried a cascade
of daisies.
The best man was Pete
Longoria of Fort Worth, the
groom's brother-in-law. Danny
Mahac of West, the bride’s
brother-in-law, was groomsman.
Thomas Sykora of West, and
Joe Longoria of Fort Worth
ushered.
Witnesses were Ernest Tobola.
Jr., bride's brother-in-law, and
John Rizo.
Rev. George Tzanakas, the
assistant pastor at St. Louis
Catholic Church, officiated. Mrs.
V. Cyrus Barcus was organist
and Miss Tracy Dvoracek. Mrs.
llattic Kolar and Mrs. Geral-
dine Laubcrt. were soloists.
A reception in St. Mary's pal-
ish hall followed the ceremony
with the couple's parents as
hosts. Members of the house
party Included Mrs. Michael
Sharp: Miss Carolyn Pavelka;
Miss Jane tongoria and Miss
Andrea Rizo.
Mrs. Rizo graduated from
West High School and from
Durham's College. She is em-
ployed at Texas Consumer Fi-
nance.
The groom graduated from
Abbott High School and is em-
ployed by M-K-T Railroad.
The couple will live in West
after a short wedding trip.

been home on a 30-day leave
