Celebrates Birthday

Perkins of Ban Antonio arrived Fri-
day for a week's visit with Mr.
Moody and her son and daughter-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy O. Moody.
Mrs. Perkins returned to San An-
tonio Sunday.
training in St. John School of
Nursing in Tulsa. Oklahoma. She
served in the Army Nurses Corps
for two and a half years.
The groom served with the Sea-
bees for thirty-seven months.
After a short wedding trip the
couple will make their home in Sin-
ton.
Vows Pigged
Miss Juarez* Estelle Puckett,
daughter of H. I. Puckett of Dallas,
became the bride of Joe A. Gerla,
son of Mr. and Mrs. A.. R. Gerla, of
Schuleiiberg, Saturday, Nov. 9, at
6 p.m.. In a ceremony at the Meth-
odist Church with the Rev. Theo.
L. Cox, officiating. 1
The bride wore a brown wool suit
with an aqua blouse and black ac-
cessories. Her corsage was com-
posed of orchids. Mrs. J. W. Ed-
wards, sister of the, groom, was
matron of honor and wore a blue
suit with black accessories. Her
corsage was of pink carnations. J.
W. Edwards was best man.
Mrs. Walter G. Martin was host-
ess for a reception following the
ceremony. Pink and red roses were
used in decoration of the rooms
and on the refreshment table. The
wedding cake was heart-shaped.

sixth birthday Thursday afternoon,
November 7, from 4 to 6:80, in her
home. Floral arrangements of col-
orful zinnias were used for decora-
tion.
After enjoying various games, the
gifts were opened. Refreshments
of cake and ice cream were served
to’the guests. Small guests includ-
ed the following: Dora, Don and
Forrest Ppwera; Thomas and Do-
lores Touchstone, Jayne, Juliette
and Billy Frank Touchstone; Odie,
Jr., and Doris Anne .Berry, Ilene
Spencer, Dorthy Edwards, Nancy
Kay Horton, Doris Marie Huff,
Mike Sharp. Charles Ray McQuary,
and Evalyn Hendrix of Taft. Moth-
ers present were Mra. J. W. Spen-
cer, Mrs. Roy Horton, Mrs. Clifford
Powers, Mrs. Roy McQuary, Mrs.
Odie Berry and Mrs. Romie Hen-
drix. Mrs.’ A. H. Hendrix and Mrs.
E. Rothlisberger, grandmothers of
the small honoree, and Mrs. Eddie
Farek, aunt, were also guests. *
accompanied home by E. G. Smith
of Corpus Cbrlsti, who has been a
patient in Scott and White Hospitl
there for the past ten days.
Mr. knd Mrs. V. M. Gordon spent
the week end in Reynosa and Mat-
amoros, Mexico, and Brownsville.
Mrs. C. A.1 Russell an daughters,
Dorothy Barrier and Vivian Russell
and Mrs. John Merrill and son,
Wayne, returned Sunday from a
visit in Waco.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnston have
moved here from Beeville to accept
the pastorage in the Assembly of
God Church.
David Cook, student at the Uni-
versity of Texas, • spent the week
end here visiting his mother, Mrs.
J. G. Cook and grandfather, C. C.
Corley. While here Cook acted as
beBt man for his friend, Sam Haw-
lett, who was married to Miss Lana
Rowley at the Methodist Church
Saturday evening.
County Agent R. R. Gibb went
to Laredo Wednesday morning to
attend an Extension Conference of
Agricultural Agents there for a
week.

family visited In the home of his
father, C. G. Moody, and brother
and .sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Roy O. Moody Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harris of
Kingsville we^e here to spend the
vfedtrend with Ira Colley and Mr.
and Mrs. A. T. Harris.
Mrs. Tansy Hart returned Sat-
urday from Odem where she made
a .visit of several days to Mrs. C.
G. Jarvis and family.
Mrs. Ora Lee Winfrey of Fort
Worth was here several days this
week, moving her household goods

she has bought a home, and visit-
ing various friends in Sinton.
Mr. A. W. Phillips returned home
Wednesday from Corpus Christi,
where he spent two weeks in a hos-
[pital following a heart attack.
| Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Samford and
sons, Jeff, Jr., and Jerry, of Mt.
Enterprise spent the week-end here,
guests of Mrs. Samford’s sister, Mrs.
t. A. Harris, and Mr. Harris.
Miss Verna Laird of Little Rock,
Arkansas, arrived Wednesday for
an indefinite visit in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Wise and farii-
ily and Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hat-
field and family.

from Sunday to Tuesday in Lam-
pasas visiting her parents, Mr. fend
M{8. John Garner, and her brother,
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F.
