HEALTH PROMOTES HAPPINESS
Without health, genuine joy is
impossible: without gopil digestion
and regular bowel movement you
cannot have health. Why neglect
keeping bowels open and risk be-
ing sick and ailing? You don’t
have to. Take one small Dr.
King's New life Pill at night, in
the morning you will have a full,
free bowel movement and feel
much better. ~fWps your appetite
ind digestion. Try one tonight.

A Plea For Dumb Brutes.
Everybody in.. Sherman knows
that yesterday's weather was ex-
ceedingly rough. The utuiosphere
was cold and the snow had fallen
furiously. Yet, sad to say, many
of the onep ies ot dumb brutes
acted toward them as if the weather
had been agreeable and lovely.
It made my blood run cold as 1
walked along our business streets
and saw so many horses and mules
suffering from the cold with no
protection at all. To be sure their
owners and drivers were well pro-
tected with their thick garments
and rubber coats and shoe*, but
regard for the bodies of- their poor
beasts of burden was absolutely
ignored. To be sure, some few
were humane enough to give them
protection, and this made us glad
and thankful, but alas! for tlie vast
majority of them.
The Saviour said white on earth:
"Blessed are tile merciful, for they
shall obtain mercy.’* My humble be-
lief is that he meant by this the
merciful to .the annuals of the
brute creation as well as to human
beings. May our people wake up
and heed this heautiuule in all The
fullness of its meaning just as it
came front the lips of the world’s
only 'perfect being.
