KERB PITCHES TODAY DEMOCRATS
SOUTHPAW RECRUIT IN
BOX FOR SHERMAN.
THE
Umpire Goehlor WiR Work Again
Today—Grand Stand Will Be
Free to I adies Tomorrow
Kerr will be in the box this after-
noon for the Cubs in the , game
against Denison at the Athletic park.
Every prospect is that the local
team will not play the loose game
that they did yesterday. Also it Is
expected that Umpire Goehlor will
not make his decisions so fast as
lie did in the tenth inning yesterday
afternoon when It was a critical
time for the welfare of the home
team. One of his decisions of yes-
terday lias been referred to Presi-
dent Johnson of the T-0 league and
to Secretary Ferrell of the National
Association for their opinion on the
play. No official report has yet
been made.
,-Unnplre Goehlor called a good
game yesterday up to the time that
the protest was entered. Some of
his rulings were dose hut no one
said a word abdut, his work prior to
the tenth inning. He will (work
again today.
Tlncup. the 'big Indian that has
shown up to be a mighty force, will
be put in the box tomorrow for the
final game. He has been out or
play for several days on account of
a sore hand, but thinks he can go
in tomorrow.
The game tomorrow afternoon is
the last, game of the Sheruian-Deni-
son series and also the last before
the Cubs go to Bonham for three
games.
Ladles will be admitted to the
grand stand free of charge tomor-
row but they must pay admission to
the park. This is on account of
Dendfeon as the team will not allow
an exclusive ladles day and the
Sherman team does not desire to
pay the visitors from the nearby
town any more of their hard earned
cash than! they legitimately are en-
titled to. The other time that Den-
ison played here the -Sherman teim
paid 12% cents to them for every
lady that entered the park on the
last day.
Telegram From Secretary.
I>ate this afternoon a telegram
was received from Secretary .1. A.
Ferrell of the- National Baseball
Commission, saying rule 28, sections
3 and 1 covers the play made yes-
terday.
(Note—Rule 28. Sections 3 and
4 is printed in the report of yester-
day’s game printed on page 3 of to-
day's Democrat.)
