JAMES C. DOZIER,
First Lieutenant, Company G,
118th Infantry.
For conspicuous bravery after
being wounded near Montbre-
hnln, France, Octpber 8, 1918,
Lieut. Dogter was awarded tlie
Distinguished Service Cross.
In command of two platoons,
Lieut. Dozier was painfully
wounded In the shoulder early
in the attack, but he continued
to lend his men, displaying tho
highest bravery and skill. When
his command was held tip by
heavy machine gun fire, he dis-
posed his men in the best rover
available and with a soldier
continued forward to attnek a
machine gun nest. Creeping up
to the position in tlie face of
intense fire, ho killed the entire
erew with hand grenades and his
pistol, and a little later cap-
tured a number of Gormans who
had tiiken refuge in a dugont
near by. Lieut, Dozier's home is
with his father, John II. Dozier,
524 Asnaffel street, Rock Hill,
S. C. , .
The poisons in man are taken care
of, if man will do his fyart. Tlie
liver and kidneys act as the sewage
disposal plants which separate and
throw off the poisonous accumula-
tions, if given half a chance. But
many of us should not eat nneat
more than once a day. Eat veget-
ables, and what may be called
“roughage,” to stimulate bowel
action, such as bakc-d potato with
the haTd skin, Graham, rye or whole
wheat bread, onions, turnips, car-
rots, even the much slandered cab-
bage, and • sauerkraut. Stimulate
the liver into a thorough houseclean-
ing at least once a week, by taking
a purely vegetable laxative, made
up and extracted from May-apple,
also, if you wish to “escape half,
the ills” which cause early]
deaths from kidney disease, alfec- ■
turns of the heart, rheumatism
and gout, drink a pint of hot’
water a half hour before meals.
Thi3 with regular outdoor exer-
cise, sensible food, and occasion-
ally Anuric (double or triple
strength) after meals for a
few weeks at. a time, and there
is no reason why a man or
woman should not live to be a
hundred. This Anuric stimulates
the kidneys, causing them to
throw out the poisonous uric acid
which causes us to have pains in
the back, lumbago, rheumatism
or gout.
Anuric always -benefits and
often cures the cause of kidney
disease, as well as rheumatism 3
and gout. Sold by druggists, or
send 60 cents to Dr. V. M. Pierce,
Pres. Invalids’Hotel Buffalo, N.Y.,
or 10 cents for trial package.
