Brother Miller, as he Is referreiPto by
everybody who knows him—and they
ill love him—is not a Methodist, as Is
stated above, but evidently lie would
have made a good one hud he started
early enough, for he loves chicken as
well as any Methodist ^preacher, and

as well as cat them. WML when he

ug over the yard, and the audacious
,-lsltor made a dash for a fat fryer 1h*-
orc the minister's very eyes. He bus-
ily retreated to the house and there
•athered up his faithful old muzzle
oader, used In his boyhood days hi the
>U1 state. Although Bro. Miller is a
minister and preaches the Blessed
Word at every opportunity, he also has
good eye, plenty of 1**1* and can
hoot like a warrior. Of course, how-
ever, he Is not a fighting man. ami It

the chicken house and an old gray
hawk lay dead hi the chicken yard.
Around It’s gills Father Time had
written lu that relentless hand that
writes in white, the feathers having
grayed from age. as one's hair grays
from the passing of time despite cos-
metics, colorings and coverings. Ills
face was wrinkled and his talons were
long and on his fi*et were corns. It
was to this last mark that Brother Mil-
ler connects the hawk he slew with
the one that Is wont when the first
blasts of winter arc heard in the land
of Sherman to sit oh the weather vane
of the court house. Brother Miller de-
clares his Mief that 111 lio other way
could these corns have been made ex-
cept by roosting on the court house
weather vane on a cold night.
We suggest that when the gentle-
men named in- the foregolug complete
their investigation, should it Is* found
that the court house hawk was really
killed by Brother Miller, that he go
to a far distant point to hold his next
meeting, and that he get Billy Sunday

Investigation, and that they he con*
