nearly over, some having been re-
taided by the heavy rain# of Satur-
day and today, Monday. There is
a greater acreage planted to oat* in
this community than ever known
and possibly 5* per cent more than
last year. Corn acreage will be in-
creased very materially. The acre-
age of cotton will be decreased.. . .
This valley, once heavily timbered
is on the verge of a fuel famine.
