Sec. 7. Such motor bus shall not
be operated except by a driver more
than eighteeo f 1A * years old aW be-

shall be issued by the city council
there shall be filed by the person
making such application, a certifi-
cate from at least ten < 10 > business
men in the City of Sherman, stating
...at they know that the driver is a
good, careful and competent -driver;
further that he has a good reputa-
tion as to his morals and manner of
living and shall state further that
he is a sober, industrious and paius-
taking mau.
Sec. S. i.hould any motor bus
driver be ctnvlcted in any of the
courts of this sigie or in (he cor-
poration court of ShcrniHn on a
charge of drunkenness, then jt shall
be unlawful for said person fo again

Sec. 9. Any persons .>|*erating a
motor Pus as contemplated by
ordinance, within the city of 9her

accompanied by a person paying
one regular fare and the drivers of
raid-motor buses shaliv cause their
vehicles to come to a full stop before
crossing any railroad or street car
track.
Sec. 10. It is not tbe intention
hereof to include within the provis-
ions of this ordinance any motor ve-
hicle or any person owning or oper-
ating same, none engaged in local
street transportation us hefeln de-
fined, but r rly answering special
calls or making trips from private
permtses or any authoriiod stand
or garage or garages when specially
employed, and when not so engaged
returning to and remaining at such
provided further that said city shall
not be deemed to have assumed any premises, stand or garage provided,
pecuniary responsibility for the sol-
vency of any such surety or Insurer,
or in any manner to have become
liable for any sum on account of
any such claim, ot on account of
any act or omission of anv officer or
Officers of the city in conneciion
with any matter relating to such
vehicle or vehicles, or on account of
any act or omission ot any person
owning or operating aby such ve-
hicle; nor shall the lawful liabillty
of any such person owning or oper-
ating any such vehichle bu in any
manner limited by anything in con-
nection with this ordinance or stfch
license, bond or Insurance; but
persons .having any cause of action
secured thereby shall be authorized
to sue on any such bond or policy
of insurance without impleading the
city.
Sec. 5. The license herein pro-
vided for shall be good aud in force
and effect only for 1 hrtartewlar'Tear
however, that in case any person
owning or operating any automobile,
thall desire (o en gage in local
street transportation as herein .de-
fined except as to the amount of
fare charged to pasisengeYn, then
tuch person and automobile shall he
govern-d by all the provisions and
requirements of this ordinance, ex-
cept as to the amount of the license
fee to be paid lo the city, which
license fee shall be lawfully and
consistently fixed and determined
by the city council upon application
being made as herein required.

eral regulations of vehicles, as the
same are now' or may be hereafter
provided, ir. other ordinances regu-
