Judge William McLean, Sr., of Fort
Worth, (Hie of _tb*j prominent figures
in the legal profession of Tcxns since
the Texas State constitutional convcn-
[ tion of lKTo, of which he was a mem-
ber. was a visitor in Sherman Monday-
on business. He was here to represent
clients in u case in Judge Silas Hare’s
Fifteenth District Court. Although 82
years of age, Judge McLean is active
in his profession, and entertains no
idea of retiring nt the present.
Judge McLean is the father of Wil-
liam McLean, Jr., who defended Earle
B. Mavfield's interests in tbe Corsicana
election bearing.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grtbble of this
city arc in receipt of a telegram an-
nouncing the death of their grand-
daughter, Priscilla Jane Gribble. which
occurred at Lubbock, Texas, Sunday
morning after a brief illness of only a
few hours' duration.
The child who was 13 years old,
was tbe daughter of Mrs, lb C. Rut-
ledgerTormerly Mrs. I rank ('. Gribble,
Jr., of Sherman. Mr. Gribble, who was
money order clerk at the local post-
office for many years, having died
about ten years ago. She was born in
this city and live* here until three
years of age when her mother moved
to Lubbock.
The body will arrive on the T. & T.
train at 2:40 o'clock Tuesday after-
noon and bo conveyed to tlu- First Pres-
byterian church, where services will he
