dog wagon, has already taken up
about thirty dogs, and these have
already been killed. The plan of
killing them as soon as the wagon is
unloaded has been adopted and no
dogs will b£ kept over Mr. Scott is
also selling dog tags on his rounds
and those who want to keep dogs
will have no trouble in doing so bv
securing the tog.

the Grayson County Old Settlers'
Association, is in receipt of a letter
from former Governor Tom M.
Campbell, accepting an invitation to
speek here during the old settlers'
reunion and pic«ic, w hich will be
beiu at Old Settlers park in She,man
August 17, IS. lb and 20. Quite a
number of prominent men have
been asked to come and speak dur-
ing the annual reunion and picnic,
and Governor Campbell's, letter is
the first acceptance. The program
committee is at work and it is ex-
pected that a program of rare inter-
est will be arranged.

isfactory rate, since the build.uf of
Sherman Hospital on Gray's Hill,
that part of the city t* growing very
rapidly. Among the substantial
improvements now in course of build-
ing may be mentioned the follow-

ley and Pecan streets, is overhauling
his residence and putting down quite
a long string of concrete sidewalks.

street is having his spacious home
repainted and remodeled
Frank Duncan is building a mod-
ern cottage at the corner of Laurel
and Binkley stree»s.
Miss Mae Hunter is building a
modern bungalo at another corner
of Laurel and Binkley streets.

In the southern end of the Aus-
tin College campus is a little grove
of virginal freshness. Some twelve
’simmon trees atid others form a
quiet little retreat never disturbed
save by a dove's cooing or the voice
of a college orator practicing for a
coming contest. About it, to the
northwest, trees mark off a sort of
natural amphitheatre.
