The last week commenced
the annual sermon by Dr. .M E
son of Denton. It was a masterly
effort given to a packed bouse. IDs
text was taken from Gen. ’Now

thee.”
On Tuesday evening (he Seniors
gave the famous pjay, “The (Ticket;
on the Hearth,’' written Ly Charles
Dickens. Dennis Boyd Bible and
Bessye Myrtle Graves were John and
Dot, the leading characters. Paul
Kimbrough was the grouch who got
the lemon. All filled their places
to perfection.
Many from Whltewrlght. Sher-
man, Whitesboro, Savoy and Am-
brose attended the play,
Thursday evening was the annual
club meeting, home coming, and the
parent-teacher reception. The pro-
gram was well arranged and well
carried out, and Judge D. B. Steed
gave the joint club* a fine address
as he always does. Many old stri-
dent*, past teachers, and former
graduates lent their presence too add
to the pleasure of the evening

brough, Mabel Neal and Mon tie
Fowler stuod be hind the- punch
bowl and made all have a delight-
ful eveping by their tasteful serv-
ing.
The graduating exercises mine
on Friday evening. The grn . s
packed the stage, the audien. < tne
auditorium, the boys the halls so
there was no room even for the in-
sects.
The class being so large only four
could deliver their final papers, Rob-
ert Martin, Cecil William Blanton,
Curtis M.-Buck, and rrice Saunders
Turpin. All were well rendered
and only the jam kept all from
hearing.. Visitors from the near
neighboring towns, like on tne night
of tho play attended.
All the past graduates were pres-
ent except Fred Foster who is in
the U. S. navy, and Miss Verner
Miller who was taking her - finals
at Denton Normal.
At the close of the program Hon,
Cal. T. r reeman delivered the di-
|lomas after giving to them and
the audience a well studied address
in his own masterly way. it was a
fitting close to the largest class in
the history of Bells.
