CHANGES.
Spring brings all kinds cf weather
and with it come colds and the revival
of winter coughs and hoarseness. Dr.

ing balsams relieve the sore throat

Tonight when Sherman people go
to bed they will have two telephone
systems. Sunday morning when they
get up, they will have but one, and
any person in the city having either
phone may call any other lierson hav-
ing either phone.
The consolidation of the two sys-
tems, or rather the taking over of
all local telephone business by the
Grayson Telephone (.'omjwuy, will be
effected at midnight together, every-
thing lielug in readiness for the cut
over. The new directory, containing
the names of over 2,000 subscribers, Is
off the press and 1ms been distributes).
Tlte Grayson Telephone company Is
today moving its offices Into the Lina
Building on North Travis, occupied
also by the Southwestern company.
This exchange. It is thought, will am-
ply care for the service at present.
In effecting the consolidation of
the system, it was necessary to
change some of the subscriber’s num-
bers, although, the majority remains
the same. Doubtless, this will cause
some lnconvneience at the first, and
subscribers are requested to ascer-
tain tiefore calling their ’ friends
whether or not the numtier remains
the simp. This will avoid delays.
Two of the privileges formerly ex-
tended by the Grayson Telephone
Comimny to Its imtrons will be with-
drawn, owing to the greatly Increased
subscribers' list. It will hereafter he
necessary for everyone to “call by
number,” and not by name.
The free service between Denison
and Sherman formerly given subscrib-
ers by the Grayson Telephone Com-
pany will lie discontinued. This ser-
vice has l>een operated for some time
at a loss to the company, It is stated,
and It will he Impossible to continue

Robertson of Sherman may spoil
his good pitching record by having an
enlargement of the head. During the
game against Ardmore yesterday he
proudly boasted to the visiting players
that they couldn’t do a thing hut

desire that the university should con-
tinue In operation a wny will be found
to keep It running,” said former Gov-
ernor O. B. Colquitt, who was In
Houston on business.
Mr. Colquitt was not disposed to
discuss the university muddle for
publication, but let it be known that
he is in sympathy with the suggestion
that a stock company be formed for
the purpose of forming of financing
the institution for the next two years,
and It is suggested from other sources
that he is one of the originators of
this plan.
The plan involves the organization
of a company with a paid In capital
stock of not less than $1,200,000.
This, with the sum which the board of
regents have available, would l>e suf-
ficient to keep the Institution a go-
ing eoncern until the legislature meets
in 1919. The corporation would Issue
Its checks for the payment of debts
against the institution and the belief
Is expressed that the legislature would
not hesitate to take cart* of the amount
thns spent.
“It would require only 1200 men to
his new | subscribe $1000 each to carry out this
day and hammer plan, and I believe there are more
Dick Gray in than that number tn the state who
would lie willing to shoulder the bur.
den,” said the former governor.
