ranto was served? Mr. Lvarts ob-
jected to the question as not within
the order. The court sustained the
objection to the question.
Mr. Green tnen presented the cer-
tificate from the clerk ot the court,
that no resignation of Humphreys,
the alleged ineligible republican
elector, was filed to January 24,
1877. Mr. Green then s. id that it
I was all the affirmative evidence that

Mr. Humphreys was then sworn,j
and produced Judge Woods’ letter, j
accepting his resignation. Another j
letter was read, dated October 6. j
