this tneoiv is established by the tact

Last Wednesday a serious accident
occurred to a party of immigrants
f.iom Montgomery county. Missouri,
en route to Texas, near Muskogee,
r. T. The party consisted of J.
Cutcher and family, and his son-in-
law and his family. The son-in-law,
whose name we did not learn, had
taken a .shot gun from the wagon for
the purpose of shooting some prairie
chickens. When about to replace
the gun, Mrs. Cutchei requested
him to remove the caps as the har-
relsjiad not been discharged, which
did. It appears, however, some
of the fulminating matter remained
the tube, anu in placing the
gun back in the wagon the hammer
caught somehow, and the gun was
discharged. 'The entile load passed
through part of the man’s hand and
entered bis heait killing him instant-
ly. Mr. Cutcher was obliged to
sell a horse, gun and other articles
to pay for the burial expenses. The
parties ate now in our citv.

When those usually active little organs
the kidneys, ate neglectful of their duties
and grow sluggish. Fatty degeneration,
Bright’s disease, diabetes, and other dan-
gerous maladies, are the result of neglect
to remedy this inactivity bv medicinal
means. When the all important functions
of kidnevs are imperfectly discharged,
those organs need stimulating, and the
best possible agent lor that purpose—
since it performs its office without exciting
them—is I lostetter’s Stomach B.tters,
which, in combination with its tonic and
cathartic properties po-se-ses valuable
qualities as a diuretic. Both kidneys and
nladder are strengthened bv it, and the
I vigor which it imparts to them, and the
| gentle but effectual impulse which it
j gives to their operations, is the b -t pos-
sible guaranty against their becoming
diseased. The Bitters are invaluable in
other respects as well as the above, since
they remedy general debility, uterine
troubles, chills a fever, dyspepsia, con-
staipation, gout, rheumatism and other
ailments.

“What did they ever name a horse
Tom Ochiltree for?" asked an old-
fashioned Senator.. “He vvas once
a United Slates Marshal in Texas.”
“Was he fleet ol foot?” T he answer
of a Kentucky horseman settled the
question. “Did you ever hear the
expression ‘lie can lie as last as a
horse can run?’ Well that was Tom
Ochiltree’s great forte, and hence the
belief that no home named after him
can ever he beaten. 1 low much will
