this competition by housewives for
the past two years has demon-
strated that the need of scientific
household refrigeration is being
recognized everywhere.
“It is a simple matter for one
to enter the contest. All that is
necessary is for one to write
twenty-five words or less com-
pleting the sentence ‘I like P and
G, Soap because......’
“No great literary style is re-
quired; only a sincere statement
of your honest reaction as to why
you prefer to use P and G soap.
Winners will be adjudged for their
originality, sincerity and con-
ciseness of thought in completing
this sentence.
“Those who have won in the
last years have been well repaid
for their efforts. Not only did
they win a handsome modem re-
frigerator but they have also wort
for themselves a safeguard against
food spoilage.
“The de luxe Duchess models
which again are being offered
this year have a six cubic foot
food storage compartment.
“Our company invites all who
are interested to drop in at our
salesroom where we will be glad
to give them complete information
concerning the details of the con-
test. We will also supply entry
blanks to all applicants.
“The popular Procter & Gamble
radio program, ‘The Guiding
Light’ will explain the competition
and announce the winners. Win-
ners will be broadcast over the
N. B. C. Nation-wide Red Net-
work every day except Saturdays
and Sundays from June 10 to
July 19.
"The contest is sponsored by
Procter & Gamble, the well-
known soap manufacturers, and
Servel, Inc., manufacturers of the
Servel Electrolux refrigerator.
This contest being nation wide
in scope required that the awards
be suitable to the needs of win-1

Paducah and Rev. C. H. Williams
of Vernon had dinner last Fri-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Black,
were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan
ners’ homes regardless of where
those winners’ homes were locat-
ed. Servel Electrolux refrigerators
alone could fill this requirement
for they successfully and eco-
nomically operate on all types of
fuel. On gas for city homes or
bottled gas, tank gas, or kerosene
for homes beyond the mains.

and Carl Black visited the Coley-
ville H. D. club last Friday aft-
ernoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Biddy
and Mr. and Mrs. George Worley
of Paducah were guests of Mr.
and Mrs. H. H. Clary last Sun-
day.
Rev. Tom Goodman of Good-
lett will preach here Sunday.
There will be a prayer meeting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Claude Stewart Saturday evening
with Mrs. Lester English leading.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Davis have
moved to Erick, Okla.
During the month of February,
, 1940, there were 205 accidents
