afternoon at 1 o’clock in the
edu ational building.
The children began learning the
Books of the Bible set to music
and practiced at the opening of
the program.
Two stories. "Saul's Conversion

by Mrs. Zena Sanderson, sponsor.

made the trip on one of the
buses chartered from this district.
In her column, "Over The Fen-
ces,” she gives some convention
highlights and I quote these two:
“The daughter of the governor
of Texas served tea to us at the
governor’s mansion . . . When we
departed, we told the guard we
enjoyed our visit. He said ‘Thanks,
y’all come back’ . • . The Seventh
District delegates seemed to be
the handsomest, healthiest, best
mannered and happiest of any
other delegates throughout the
convention.”

session was held. Plans were made
for a social at the next meeting,
Nov. 25. from 6 to 7:30 p. m.

on a decoration committee; Fred-
da Swint and Virginia Payne will
plan the menu; Bernice Bush,
Grace Mauldin and Mrs. Zena
Sanderson will plan the program.
A quilt, pieced by the Y. W.
A., will be finished this week and
will be mailed to the orphanage
after next Monday.
The afternoon's program con-
sisted of “The Soong Sisters
Speak To America” by Delma
Beeson and “Persevering to the
Surrendered Life” by Mrs. San-
derson.
Grace Mauldin gave the closing
prayer.
Hot chocolate and cookies were
served to Nadene Foster, Hazel
Mae Fields, Grace Mauldin, .Hig-
gle Swint, Patricia Fischer, Ber-
nice Bush, Delma Beeson. Mo-
zelle Smith. Mrs. Christian, Mrs.
Sanderson, the hostesses and two
visitors, Kidy Belle Cole aid

Completes Study
The Methodist W. S. C. S. com-
pleted its study of “Migrants” at
a meeting Monday afternoon in
the church educational building.

nounced that the organization will
sponsor fire prevention programs
Tuesday -afternoon and evening,
Dec. 3. G. K. Hawthorne, fireman
from Lincoln, Neb., will show
movies and demonstrate first aid
needed for injury from fire and
smoke. Both programs will be
given n the high school audito-
rium.
Hostesses, teachers and mothers
of the 5-Red and 5-Blue rooms,
served refreshments to approx
iniately 40.
The next meeting, scheduled
Dec. 10, will be held at 3:45 p.
m. instead of 3:30, it was an-
nounced.
