A Palacios man remains in
serious condition at a Houston
Hospital after suffering severe
injuries in a two car accident

David Blomberg, 42, was
iLifeFlighted to Hermann
Hospital following the accident
which occurred around 10:30
’p.m. Jan. 28 near Harrison
Road on FM 2853. Blora-
berg’s small compact car was
•truck nearly head-on by an-
other vehicle after both drivers
reportedly swerved into a ditch
to avoid the other.
at the DPS Pierce office, the
accident was investigated by
Trooper Rick Deleon. Re-
peated attempts to contact
Trooper Deleon for informa-
tion on the accident were un-
successful.
The impact pinned Blom-
berg inside his vehicle and it
required the use of jaws-of-life
equipment to free him from
the wreckage. He was taken to
Wagner General Hospital and
subsequently LifcFlightcd to
Hermann Hospital. Blomberg,
edly suffered a broken right
ankle, hip injuries, a broken
jaw and facial lacerations in the
accident.
The female driver of the
other vehicle was treated for
injuries at the Palacios hospital.
Her identification, and the ex-
tent of her injuries, could not
be verified by the DPS.
According to a friend of the
family, Blomberg s condition
Joel Lopez, 37, of the 300
block of 10th Street, was ar-
rested at 2:05 a.m. Feb. 6 in
the 400 block of Commerce
and charged with public intox-
ication.
Jesus Munoz, 27, of
Aransas Pass, was arrested at
2:07 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 400
block of Commerce and
charged with public intoxica-
tion.
• Rhonda Gay Herring, 32,
of the 400 block of Lucas, was
arrested at 2:07 a.m. Feb. 6 in
the 400 block of Commerce
and charged with public intox-
ication.
• Keith Allen Billeau, 21, of
Sweeny, was arrested at 12:29
a.m. Feb. 5 near 5th and Main
on a warrant.
• Robert Losoya, Jr., 30, of
the 1000 block of Ritchie, was
arrested at 1:10 a.m. Feb. 5 in
the 1400 block of 1st and
charged with driving while in-
toxicated.
• Jeffrey Gatica, 22, of the
700 block of Lucas, was ar-
rested at 2:10 a.m. Feb. 5 in
the 500 block of Commerce
and charged with public intox-
ication and possession of mari-
juana (less than 2-oz.)
• David Salazar Saldana, 32,
of the 700 block of Lucas, was
arrested at 11:46 p.m. Feb. 5
in the 500 block of Main and
charged with public intoxica-
tion.
• Robert Harold Thompson,
Jr., 18, of the 900 block of

Hands-on training
CONSTRUCTION TRADES students of Palacios High
School finished up work on a driveway they poured last
week as a part of their ongoing "hands-on training". The
class covers all phases of construction from the pouring of
concrete to the framing of a house. The students gain Job skill
experiences by participating in actual construction rites.
