Councilman Bob Fiorini said he was concerned about the
vandalism and also what, if any, liability the city would have if they
voted to have the signs taken down and a traffic accident occurred.
Councilman Ed Schulze, agreeing with Fiorini stated, "1 hate to
submit to vandalism."
None of the council made a motion to act on the request to re-
move the signs, thereby leaving the stops signs in place.
OTHER COUNCIL ACTION
• Resignations from Ruby Montalvo and 11-year veteran dis-
patcher Bill Armstrong were accepted and approved by council and
Shannon Irvin and Carol Gonzales were accepted as new dispatch-
ers for the police department.
• After numerous problems with lighting and fuel pumps at the
Palacios Municipal Airport, City Administrator Charles Winfield
repotted that the beacon is now working, and work on the runway
lights is currently being done. A problem with the fuel tanks two
weeks ago left several helicopters from Fort Hood without enough
fuel to make it home again. Part of the problem was discovered two
days later when it was reported that problems in an electrical box,
